On <br /> motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, copy of <br /> petition was ordered furnished Trustee Mandy for enforcement of <br /> <br /> Ordinance regulating condition. <br />,, <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br /> petition signed by 13 residents in the southwest part of the city <br /> requesting street lights at the conners of Glenwood and Flower Sts <br /> and Gertrude and Flower Streets, was referred to Trustee Cheney <br /> and the City Engineer. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by lieed and carried, the <br /> Mayor and Clerk were authorized to sign a release f~r the Dept. of <br /> the Army Corps of Engineers on Lease No. W04-353-eng-2052 coverin <br /> rental of rooms Nos. 209, 214 and 215 in the Community Center <br /> Bldg., lease terminating January 31, 1949. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br /> application of the Dixon Pump Works to drill a well on the proper- <br /> ,t,y located at ll06 E. First Street, was granted. <br /> Communication was read from 6he Planning Commission recommending <br /> that a set'back line be established on the north side of W. First <br /> Street 55 feet north of the center line of said street and extend- <br /> ing from Sullivan Street west to the City Limits. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br />follow~ng Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution declaring Intention to Establish a <br /> Set Back on North side of West First Street" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 3735 and passed <br />by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees W.J. Cheney, Courtney ~. Chandler, <br /> Allen A. Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, R. Carson Smith <br /> Noes, Trustees None <br /> Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br /> Resolution No. 235 of the Planning Commission was read, adopting <br /> and recommending delimiting of a site for a Civic Center, that <br /> area bounded by Sixth Street on the South, Eighth Street and <br /> Church Street on the North, Sycamore Street on the East and the <br /> center line of Hoss Street on the West. On motion of Trustee <br /> Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Clerk was authorized <br /> to publish a notice of public hearing relative to proposed boun- <br /> daries delimiting a site for Civic Center; setting the hearing <br /> date on the 21st day of February, 1949. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br />monthly reports for January of the Building, Poll~, Juvenile and <br />City Court and the Juvenile report for the year 1948, were filed. <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the demands as audited by the Finance Committee, were approved <br />and Clerk authorized to draw warrants covering demands nttmbering <br />2519 to 2920inclusive. <br /> <br /> <br />
