Stinglen <br /> <br /> ~enewal of lease of Citrus Growers for Mexican National Camp at <br /> Delhi having been tabled until this meeting, on motion of Trustee <br /> Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Mayor was authorized <br /> to appoint a committee to work out the details on a final lease <br /> of city property to Citrus Growers, Inc. Trustee Chandler, Park <br /> Superintendent and City Attorney appointed as the committee. <br /> <br /> On motion oI' Trustee Reed, seconded by Man~y and carried, the <br /> application of Blower Bros. for a variance to construct a mortuar <br /> at the northeast corner of 17th and Grand Avenue, was denied. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br /> following Hesolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "A Hesolution of the City Council showing its <br /> intention to amend the Zo$ing Ordinance relative <br /> to the location oI' Mortuaries" <br /> <br /> to permit saiC business in the C-1 District or any less restric- <br /> tive districts as now established, was read, considered, designa- <br /> ted Resolution No. 3736 and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees W. J. Cheney, Courtney H. Chandler, Allen A. <br /> Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, R. Carson Smith <br /> Noes, Trustees None <br /> Absent, Trustees None. <br /> <br />No oral or written protests were received reference to amendment <br />of Zoning Ordinance to permit offices of dentists, physicians and <br />others engaged professionally in any legalized form of healing on <br />certain property along portions of Spurgeon, French .and Mortimer <br />Streets, as permmtted in the R-~ Multiple-Family Hesidence Dis- <br />trict and on motion or Trustee Reed, seco~Aded oy Mandy and carried <br />the following Ordinance entitlec: <br /> <br /> "Ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1~7," <br /> <br />was introduced, read, considered and placec on file for second <br />reading. <br /> <br />No oral or wrmtten protests were received reference to amendmen~ <br />or Zoning ordinance to reclassmfy property lying north of First <br />Street and west of Sullivan Street, from R-2 Residence District <br />to the M-i Manufacturing District, in accord~uce with the applica- <br />tion of James N. Hentges, etal. and on motion or Truste~ Chandler0, <br />seconded by Cneney and carried, the City Attorney was instructed <br />to prepare an Ordinance to change t~e zone. <br /> <br />No oral or written protests were received reference to amendment <br />of Zoning Ordinance to reclassify property described as Lots 7, <br />8, $, lC, ll, 12 aha the easterly D feet of Lot 13, in Block "E" <br />of South Santa Ana, from R-1 Residence District to the C-2 Commer- <br />cial District, in accordance with the applic~ation of Jos. M. <br />Amstadt and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and <br />carried, the City Attorney was instructe~ to prepare an Ordinance <br />to change the zone. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be <br />granted to Anton ant Anna M. Van de Ven to permit a retail plumb- <br />ing business a~ 920 E. St. Gertrude Place, subject to certain con- <br />ditions, was accepted and the application granteu. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission that a varia:~ce be <br /> <br /> <br />
