Mandy. <br />Noes Trustees None <br />Absent Trustees None <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the <br />Mayor was authorized to execute Contract N 123s-44643, between <br />the City of Santa Ana and the United States of America covering <br /> <br /> from the Naval Air Station, Santa Ana, <br /> <br /> 1949 and continuing in effect until further <br /> <br />disposal of sewage <br />beginning July 1st, <br />notice. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wood appeared before the Council stating he had no objection <br /> to establishment of beauty shop at 1002 North Ross Street. <br /> <br />~ motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Reed and carried, <br />variance application of Mary B. Smith was held over until next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />variance application of Elmer E. Everett to establish a school <br />and grocery store at the southwest corner of Anahurst Place and <br /> <br /> Flower Street, was held over until next meeting. <br />,, <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded bM Martin and carried, <br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission that a variance be <br />granted to Emma J. Pankey to permit o portion of an existing <br />accessory building in rear of residence to be converted into a <br />single-family dwelling unit and to authorize remodeling of existi~ <br />living quarters in said accessory building into a single-family <br />dwelling unit, thereby creating tm~such units in said building, <br /> <br /> at yO$ Halladay Street, was approved and variance granted. <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />memo from Auditor setting forth cost estimates for alterations in <br />the Police Department was referred to City Attorney for written <br />~egal opinion. <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids covering the sale <br />'of city-owned lot located at Broadway and Anahurst Place; bids to <br />be opened October 3rd, 1949. <br /> <br />A memo was read from Auditor requesting approval of purchase of <br />two trucks with 12 yard load packer bodies and one tractor with <br />elevating loader. 'On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by <br />Martin and carried, the request for two trucks with 12 yard load <br /> <br />cormnittee consisting of Trustee Reed <br />repOrt back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> <br />packer bodies was referred to <br />Auditor and City Engineer, to <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, <br /> <br />approval was given to purchase the two budgeted items consisting <br />of one truck with load packer body and one tractor. <br /> <br /> <br />
