Council Chamber Santa Ana City Hall November 7th, 1949. 2:00 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Trustees Absent: Trustees W.J.Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, John W. Martin Jr., Virgil H. Reed, Allen A. Mandy. None Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of October 17th and October 31st, 1949, further reading of t~e Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Chandler, eeconded by Cheney and carried. In Re Bid Toilet facilities 3rd Floor City Hall # On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open the one bid covering installation of toilet facilities on the third floor of the City Hall, as follows: Bid of Me~as & Ulrich, in the amount of $2,843.00. Certified check in the amount of $284.30 accompanied bid. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, bid was referred to a committee for checking and to report back. Chairman appointed Building Inspector and Purchasing Agent, as In Re Bid Poles for Memorial. Park committee. # On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open the one bid covering the furbishing of two sixty foot poles and three seventy foot poles for Santa Aha Memorial Park, as follows: Bi~_o~ Pacific Southwest Pipe ~ompany: 2 60 foot (67 foot over-all) Poles EL and ER 2 -- ?0 foot (?8 foot over-all) Poles FR 1 ~ud FL 1 1 -- 70 foot (?8 foot over-all) Pole DLL 1 $ 280.00 $ 560.00 $ 410.00 $ 820.00 $ 905.o0 $ 905.00 Total $ 2285.00 Certified check in the amount of $240.00 accompanied bid. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, bid was referred to a committee for checking and to report back. Chairman appointed Park Superintendent and Purchasing Agent, as £n Re Variance B.&.T._Krisher Committee, # Royal Hubbard, Attorney, representing Bailey and The]ma Krisher, presented a petition containing approximately twenty signatures favoring granting of variance to permit off-street parking for patrons of a proposed food market having frontage on Main Street. Lester Van Taterahove, Attorney, on behalf of Arthur NissOn, oppose~ granting of this variance. Na~s. John Vieira also opposed the variance. On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was upheld In Re Off-street parking N.& S. Main St. and variance denied. # On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the Planning Commission was instructed to give additional study to off-street parking on both South and North Main Streets to take In Re Variance Clyde G. Holland care of the future growth of the City. # On motion of. Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved that a variance be granted to Clyde G. Nolland to permit two kitchens andi possible conversion of a residence at 947 West Bishop Street into
