Council Chamber <br />Santa Ana City Hall <br />November 7th, 1949. <br /> <br />2:00 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br />Meeting called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees <br />Absent: Trustees <br /> <br />W.J.Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, <br />John W. Martin Jr., Virgil H. Reed, <br />Allen A. Mandy. <br />None <br /> <br />Each member of the City Council having received copies <br />of the Minutes of October 17th and October 31st, 1949, <br />further reading of t~e Minutes was dispensed with and <br />approved on motion of Trustee Chandler, eeconded by <br />Cheney and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Bid <br />Toilet facilities <br />3rd Floor <br />City Hall <br /> <br /># <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br />Clerk was authorized to open the one bid covering installation of <br />toilet facilities on the third floor of the City Hall, as follows: <br /> <br />Bid of Me~as & Ulrich, in the amount of $2,843.00. <br />Certified check in the amount of $284.30 accompanied bid. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> <br />bid was referred to a committee for checking and to report back. <br /> <br />Chairman appointed Building Inspector and Purchasing Agent, as <br /> <br />In Re <br />Bid <br />Poles for <br />Memorial. Park <br /> <br />committee. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the <br />Clerk was authorized to open the one bid covering the furbishing <br />of two sixty foot poles and three seventy foot poles for Santa Aha <br /> <br />Memorial Park, as follows: <br /> <br />Bi~_o~ Pacific Southwest Pipe ~ompany: <br />2 60 foot (67 foot over-all) <br /> Poles EL and ER <br />2 -- ?0 foot (?8 foot over-all) <br /> Poles FR 1 ~ud FL 1 <br />1 -- 70 foot (?8 foot over-all) <br /> Pole DLL 1 <br /> <br />$ 280.00 <br /> $ 560.00 <br /> <br />$ 410.00 $ 820.00 <br />$ 905.o0 $ 905.00 <br /> <br /> Total $ 2285.00 <br />Certified check in the amount of $240.00 accompanied bid. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, bid <br /> <br />was referred to a committee for checking and to report back. <br /> <br />Chairman appointed Park Superintendent and Purchasing Agent, as <br /> <br /> £n Re <br />Variance <br />B.&.T._Krisher <br /> <br />Committee, <br /> # <br />Royal Hubbard, Attorney, representing Bailey and The]ma Krisher, <br /> <br />presented a petition containing approximately twenty signatures <br /> <br />favoring granting of variance to permit off-street parking for <br /> <br />patrons of a proposed food market having frontage on Main Street. <br /> <br />Lester Van Taterahove, Attorney, on behalf of Arthur NissOn, oppose~ <br /> <br />granting of this variance. Na~s. John Vieira also opposed the <br /> <br />variance. On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Cheney and <br /> <br />carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission was upheld <br /> <br />In Re <br />Off-street <br />parking <br />N.& S. Main St. <br /> <br />and variance denied. <br /># <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the <br />Planning Commission was instructed to give additional study to <br />off-street parking on both South and North Main Streets to take <br /> <br />In Re <br />Variance <br />Clyde G. Holland <br /> <br />care of the future growth of the City. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of. Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the <br />recommendation of the Planning Commission was approved that a <br />variance be granted to Clyde G. Nolland to permit two kitchens andi <br /> <br />possible conversion of a residence at 947 West Bishop Street into <br /> <br /> <br />
