In He Communication Vincent Borchard, etal Storm Waters A communication was read from Vincent Borchard, Stephen Griset, William 0. Segerstrom and Antone Borchard with reference to flow of runoff surface waters in the City of Santa Ana flooding the low places on adjoining land causing a hazardous situation. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Mandy and carried, the communication was received, filed and co~nittee of Mayor Smith, Trustee Chancy, City Engineer and City Attorney appointed to investigate and answer communication. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the City Council adjourned. City Clerk. Council Chamber Santa Aha City Hall February 21st, 1949. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present= Trustees Absent: Trustees WoJ.Cheney, Courtney R, Chandler, Allen A..Mandy~ Virgil R. Reed, R. Carson Smith. None Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of February 7th, 1949, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Chandler, In Re Affirmation of Loyalty Cards seconded by Chancy and carried. William Secrest, Pres. S.A.C.E.A. presented 384 Affirmation of Loyalty cards to the Council which have been signed by all employees of the City. The Council also signed Loyalty cards and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, the Civil Service Board was requested to have all persons making In Re Bid Steel Poles application for employment with the City sign such Affirmation of Loyalty cards. on motion of Trustee Chq~dler, seconded by Mandy and carried, th~ Clerk was authorized to open bid for six steel poles to be used for the lighting of ball field in the S.A. Memorial Park, as follows: Bid of Pacific Southwest Pipe Co.: Pole ER1 and ER2 - each Pole Fr - each Pole Cr - each Pole Drr- each $ 302.00 485.00 732.00 1030.00 Pole Br - Two at: each 795.00 Certified check in the amount of $450.00 accompanied bid. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Chancy and carried, bid was referred to committee for study and report back. Chairman appointed Trustee Chandler, Auditor, Park Superintendent and In Re Bids Storage Batteries Recreation Director, as committee. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the Clerk was authorized to open bids for 142 single cell lead storage batteries for the Fire Department, as follows: Bid of The Gamewell Company: , Gamewell type I.C.S. ca~alog ~5600, 2-volt, sealed top, discharge capacity 180 hours at 1/10 ampere. Dimension of Jars is 6 5/8" x 8 3/8" x'2 7/~", f.o.b. Santa Aha for *7.69 eqch, or $1091.98 for the total of 142 cells; state sales tax not included. Certified check in the amount of $110.00 accompanied bid. Bid of Gould Storage Battery Corporation: 142 cells of Gould Type CF-52 storage battery cells assembled in sealed glass Jars. with molded hard rubber covers and necessary inter-cell connectors, at price of $700.25, freight prepaid to Santa Ans.
