Main St., was referred to <br /> Trustee Cheney and Engineer for investigation and report back. <br /> Communication was read from Secy. Traffic Safety Commission, <br /> together with copy of petition signed by eight owners of property <br /> fronting on So. Main St. between Anahurst Place and Delhi Road, <br /> requesting that physical barriers be removed. On motion of <br /> Trustee Cheney, seconded by Reed and carried, matter was referred <br /> to Council, as a whole, to investigate, with power to act. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, <br /> petitions of G.V. Mason et ux and Orvin S. Hunt et ux, requesting <br /> easement be removed from Lot 13 Block "A" Tract 887, and Lot 28, <br /> Block "A", Tract 88?,were referred to committee to investigate and <br /> report back. Chairman appointed Trustee Reed, Engineer and <br /> Attorney, as committee. <br /> <br /> Request was read from Orange County Refrigeration & Fixture Co. <br /> that driveway at 302 E. 8th St. be filled in and two parking meter <br /> placed~. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and <br /> carried, Engineer was authorized to fill in curb at the driveway <br /> and parking meters placed; cost of such work to be taken from the <br /> Parking Meter fund. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, <br /> Attorney was instructed to prepare Ordinance requiring any one <br /> making application to cut curb for driveway to reinstall same when <br /> driveway is no longer in use. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carrisd, <br /> notifications <br />/of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage ~pp- <br /> <br /> lications made by N. Eddie Valenzuela, 1211 E. 1st St. and The <br /> <br /> Marine Club, 228~ No. Broadway, were received and filed~ <br /> ,, <br /> On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, <br /> application of Howard E. Marquise to drive taxicab, was granted <br /> and permit ordered issued. <br /> <br /> No oral or written protests having been received on delimiting of <br /> a site for a Civic Center, on motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by <br /> Reed and carried, matter was taken under advisement until next <br /> meeting. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Mandy <br /> seconded by Cheney and carried, the bid of the Gould Storage <br /> Battery Corp., in the amount of $700.28 was accepted covering <br /> furnishing of 142 cells storage batteries and check of unsuccessf <br /> bidder ordered returned. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> the recommendation of the Planning Commission that variance be <br /> <br /> <br />
