<br />next meeting. Chairman appointed Trustee Reed, Auditor, City

<br />Clerk was authorized to open the one bid received on operation
<br />
<br />of City Dump, as follows:
<br />
<br />Bid of Jack Arutian, in th~ amount of $38.00 per month
<br />for rental of City Dump, for a period of three years.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, bid
<br /> and proposed agreement
<br />/was taken under advisement by Council, as a whole.

<br /> This being the night set for acceptance of bids on sale of
<br />
<br />property at 19th and Victoria Street, Dr. James P. Davis bid
<br />
<br />$1,000.00 for the property. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded
<br />
<br />by Cheney and carried, bid was rejected. On motion of Trustee
<br />
<br />Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, property was ordered
<br />
<br />appraised by a certified appraiser and property will be resubmitte
<br />
<br />to the public for bid with provision that Council shall have
<br />
<br />authority to reject or accept bids.

<br />On motion of Trustee Cheney, se'conded by Chandler and carried,
<br />
<br />communication from City of Whittier reference their experience in
<br />the transportation field, and communication from Chamber of
<br />
<br />Commerce urging favorable consideration to request of C.H.Eckles
<br />
<br />to extend his bus service over two new routes, were received and
<br />filed. On mo~ion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and
<br />carried, Cl'erk was directed to write the Public Utilities Corp.,
<br />
<br />advising that the City of Santa Ana has no objection and do
<br />consent to the granting of a franchise to C.H. Eckles to operate a
<br />
<br />bus service outside of the City limits of the City of Santa Aha.
<br />
<br />Trustee Reed made an amendment to the motion, which was duly
<br />
<br />seconded by Trustee Mandy and carried, that such communication
<br />
<br />include the fact that service within the City be maintained on
<br />
<br />the present schedules and routes.
