<br />Communication was read from Union Bus Depot requesting a re4 bus
<br />stop on the curb on Third Street at the southwest corner of
<br />Third and Spurgeon Streets, and on motion of Trustee Mandy,
<br />seconded by Reed and carried, request was denied.
<br />
<br />Communication was read from Secy. Izaak Walton League suggesting
<br />that Peace Officers' pistol range be located on property now
<br />leased by them from the City, and on motion of Trustee Reed,
<br />seconded by Mandy and carried, communication was ~eceived and
<br />filed.
<br />
<br />Communication was read from Supt. of Schools requesting that a
<br />fifteen minute loading zone b~ established in front of Visual
<br />Library, W. 8th St., and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded
<br />by Cheney and carried, Chairman was authorized to appoint a
<br />committee to investigate and report back. Trustee Chandler,
<br />Engineer, Park Superintendent and Attorney were appointed as
<br />committee.

<br />Communication was read from Ruth Bellows on behalf of Jr. Ebell
<br />Society requesting use of Santiago Park on Saturday, April 16th,
<br />1949, and on motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and
<br />carried, Chairman was authorized to appoint a committee to invest
<br />igate and report back. Trustee Chandler, Recreation Director,
<br />Attorney and Park Superintendent 'were appointed as committee.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic
<br />beverage application made by John Brunet, 1306 So. Main St., was
<br />received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />applications of Herbert Shafter and J.D. Havard tS.drive taxicabs
<br />were granted and permits ordered issued.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, claim
<br />of Sarah E. Stephens, in the amount of $10,000.00 for injuries
<br />sustained when falling on sidewalk at or near 116 So. Flower St.,
<br />was referred to the City Attorney.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />request of Good Samaritan Mission for Girls, to solicit funds,
<br />
<br />was denied.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, reports
<br />of the Building Department and Judge's office for month of
<br />December, 1948, and Judge's report for year 1948, were received
<br />and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chendler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the demands, as audited 'by the Finance. Committee, were approved
<br />and Clerk authorized to draw warrants covering demands numbering
<br />
<br />2149 to 2818 inclusive.
