On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, communication from Park Supt. recon~nending that Santa Ana High School, Santa Ana Cqllege, and the Marine Corps be allowed to use the Municipal Bowl, according to schedules as su0mitted, was received and filed. Communication was read from C.H.Eckles, owner Santa Ana Bus Co., wherein he advises he has withdrawn his application for proposed franchise to serve Santa Ana Gardens, and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, communication was receive and filed. On motion of Trustee .Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, communication from Park Supt. recommending that Santa Ana Queens, Elk Stars and the Rec~reation Dept., be allowed to use the Municipa Bowl, according to schedules as submitted, was received and filed. Communication w.~s read from Harold W. Smith advising that property at 803 G~rfield St. is cluttered with junk and debris and is a fir~ .hazard. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried matter was referred to Fire Chief. Communication was re~d from Secy. Planning Commission ~eference Section 60 of the Conservation and Planning Act, and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was received, filed and Clerk directed to forward copy of Section 60 to all Department Heads. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, Mayor was authorized to sign escrow instructions and Mayor and Clerk authorized to affix their signatures to the deed conveying to Victor Charles Stlverstein and Marion Silverstein, Lot 8 and that portion of Lot 9, in Block "B" of Geopper's Addition, being property a.t corner of 1.9th and Victoria Streets. C. ommunication was read from Chief of Police stating that Traffic Safety Commission had recommended installation of traffic signal or the placing of a crossing guard at 1st and Artesia Streets. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, City Engineer was instructed to request the State Highway Department t¢ install a traffic signal at said location and if request is refuse~ a crossing guard shal. 1 be provided· Communication was read from W.~.Robertson requesting that a loadin zone be estab, lished at 904 E. 1st St., and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, matter was referred to committee for investigation and report back next meeting. Chairma ,a, ppointed Trustee Cheney and City Engineer, as committee. Communication was read from Smart & Final Co. Ltd. requesting that a loading zone be establSshed at ~6 W. §th St., and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, matter was referred to committee for investigation and report back next meeting. Chairman appointed Trustee Cheney and City Engineer, as co~m~ittee.
