Braasch requesting install- <br />ation of overhead street light on Linwood north of 6th St., and on <br />motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, matter <br />was referred to committee of Trustee Cheney and City Engineer~ <br />with power to act. <br /> <br />On recon~uendation of the Traffic Safety Commission and on motion <br />of Trustee Nandy, seconded by Reed and carried, City Engineer was <br />instructed to paint a cross-walk at the intersection of 1st and <br />Lacy Streets. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the <br />Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of <br />garbage originating in the ~ity of Santa Ana; bids to be opened <br />April 18th, 1949. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />the Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids covering the furn- <br />ishing of 63 new cast iron sinks including drain and splash boards <br />for the Casa de Santa Ana Housing Project, according to spec- <br />ifications; bids to be opened April 18th, 1949. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the <br />Clerk was authorized tc advertise for bids covering the furnishin <br />of one, l-l/2 ton truck and one, 3/4 ton pickup truck, for use of <br />the Water Department, according to specifications; bids to De <br />opened April 18th, 1949. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, the <br />Clerk was ~uthorized to advertise for bids covering the furnishin <br />of one revolving aerial ladder for use of the Park Department, <br />according to specificetions; bids to be opened April 1eth, 1949. <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />notifications of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic <br />beverage applications made by Cornish J. Roehm,~ba E.R.Roehm Co., <br />1055 E. 4th St., and Lois C. Dempster and. Samue~ R. Hopkins, 1705 <br />N. Main St., were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, <br />applications of Robert DroWn and Robert W. Warren to 'drive taxicab <br />were granted and permits ordered issued. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, <br />communication from Fire Chief reqmesting support in opposing Bills <br />A.B. 461 and A.B. 13~? and support of Bill on Interim Committee, <br /> <br />was referred to committee. Chairman appointed Trustee Mandy and <br /> <br />Fire Chief, as committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> <br />Nap Tract No. 1324 covering improvements in Riverside Drive, <br /> <br />North Olive Lane and Flower Street, was approved and proper <br />authorities authorized to sign and bond in the amount of ~ll,000.0 <br />was accepted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />Phil Brown was reappointed to serve as a member of the Civil <br />Service Commission; term to expire December 3!st, 1953. <br /> <br /> <br />
