<br />Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was received,
<br />filed and bond ordered released, which was submitted by A.J~

<br />Mary McF. Hinds, Wm. K. Lindsay and Edith M. Ltndsay.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br /> report of the Juvenile Bureau, for month of March, 1949, was
<br /> received and filed.

<br /> George Bradley, Attorney, appeared before the Council opposing
<br /> reco~m~endation of Planning Co:muission denying abandonment of a
<br /> fourteen foot alley extending in an e~st-west direction through
<br /> Block "A" of French's Addition, said block being bounded by East
<br /> 1st St., on the north, E. Walnut St. on the south, Cedar St. on
<br /> the West and Evergreen St. on the east. Fred Forgy, Attorney,
<br /> representing Excelsior Creamery Co. stated his reasons why alley
<br /> should be abandoned. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by
<br /> Reed and carried, City Attorney was suthorized to p~oceed with
<br /> abandonment proceedings of this alley; cost of abandonment to .be
<br /> borne by petitioners.

<br /> An opinion of the City Attorney was read reference installment
<br /> purchase of real property. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded
<br /> by Reed and carried, Mayor was author!zed to enter into escrow
<br /> instructions co~ering purchase of property, in the amount of
<br />
<br /> $30,000.00, foruse of City parking lot, having a frontage of 175
<br /> W.3rd St.bebween Ross and
<br /> ft. on/Birch. St. and extending to tho alley on the north.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,

<br /> a Resolution Accepting Deed from Allison Honer Co., a co-partner-
<br /> snip, conveying to the City, Lots 4,5,6 and the west ~alf of Lot
<br /> $ of Tae Park Tract Aadition to Santa Ana, was read, considered,
<br /> designated Resolution No. ~766 and passed by the following vote:
