<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br />Clerk was authorized to advertise for bids covering the
<br />of 1200 feet l-l/2" Pacific Coast Standard Underwriters Label
<br />Fire Hose; bids to be opened May 16th, 1949.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried,
<br />the monthly r~pprts for April of the Building Department and
<br />Judge.s office, were received and filed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />warrants be issued when demands are signed by the majority of the
<br />Council.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the
<br />application of the Southern Pacific R.R.Co. for a twenty-five
<br />year franchise to construct, reconstruct, maintain and operate
<br />standard guage railroad tracks in and across certain streets and
<br />alleys in Santa Ana, was tabled until next meeting.
<br />
<br />No oral or written protests were received reference to amendment
<br />to Zoning Ordinance permitting mortuaries in the C-l, C-2, M-1
<br />or M-2 Districts, with certain restrictions, and on motion of
<br />Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the City Attorney
<br />was instructed to prepare an Ordinance to change the zoning.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the
<br />following Ordinance entitled:
<br />
<br /> "Ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1074"
<br />
<br />to amend Zoning Ordinance to reclassify certain property, being a
<br />five acre parcel at the northeast corner of Sullivan and First
<br />Streets, from the R-2 to the M-1 District, in accordance with
<br />application of R. Haster, was read, considered,designated
<br />Ordinance No. 1253 and passed by the following vote:
