No. 3788 <br />Abandonment 4 unnamed <br />alleys & portions Lowell, <br />Towner, Vance, etc. <br /> <br />In Re <br />Claim for refund <br />of ProPerty taxes <br /> <br />In Re <br />Conmnunication <br />City Engineer <br />(removal tree <br />1317 S.~ain St.) <br /> <br /> In Re <br />Leave of <br />'Absence <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee M~andy, seconded by Reed and carried, Trustee <br />Chandler was requested to furnish a complete report on the <br />activities at the Museum, particularly in regard to the salary of <br />the Caretaker, Mr. Helton, rental, occupancy and usage of apart- <br />ment at the Museum. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the <br />Minutes of the Executive Board of the Joint 0utfall Sewer Meeting <br />held at Anaheim, May 12, 1949, were received, approved and filed. <br />Communication was read from Joint Committee, Chamber of Commerce, <br />recommending that enforcement of parking Ordinances and traffic <br />Ordinances be returned to the Police Dept., and on motion of <br />Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, Chairman was <br />instructed to write the Bo~ d of Directors of Chamber of Commerce <br />for further discussion of the matter. <br /> <br />Communication was read from City Engineer advising that barricades <br />with lanterns were set on the portion of W. Washington between <br />English and King Sts., and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by <br />Chandler and carried, communication was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, Trustee <br />Chandler was instructed to meet with the Museum Board in regard <br />to mileage of Curator. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by ~andy and carried, Map <br />of Tract No. 1318, being property located on the east side of <br />English St. and west of Towner St., from Sth to 8th Sts., was <br />approved subject to filing of bond and Engineer and Clerk author- <br />ized to sign same when approved by Attorney. <br /> <br />No protests having been received, on motion of Trustee Reed, <br />seconded by Mandy and carried, the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "A Resolution ordering the vacation, <br /> abandonment and closing of four unnamed <br /> alleys and portions of Lowell, Olive, <br /> Towner, Vance and Washington and Poinsettia <br /> Streets, as described in Ordinance of <br /> Intention Number 1252" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 3?88 and passed <br /> <br />by the following vote: <br /> A~es, Trustees <br /> <br /> 'Noes, Trustees <br /> Absent, Trustees <br /> <br />Courtney R. Chandler, Allen A. Mandy, <br />Virgil H. Reed, R. Carson Smith. <br />None <br />W.J.Cheney <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, Claim <br />and demand for refund of p~ petty taxes of Young Men's Christian <br />Assoc. of Santa Ana, in the amount of $2,8V3.32, was referred to <br />the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Engineer reference application of <br />Curry Ice Cream Co. to have tree removed in parkway at 1713 So. <br />Main St., and advising that State Highway Dept. has refused permit <br />as Main Street is State Highway Route. On motion of Trustee <br /> <br />Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, communication was received, <br /> to be <br />filed and copy of State's letter/forwarded to interested parties. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, request <br />of A.A. Mandy for permission to leave the State from June 8th to <br /> <br /> <br />
