Deed <br />tM.B.Harding <br /> <br /> Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, Engineer was <br /> instructed to prepare encroachment permit with necessary plans an, <br /> specifications and file with the State, and if approved, to <br /> install signals at 6th and Main Streets. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, Trustee <br /> Reed was instructed to inform the Joint Outfall Sewer Committee <br /> that Santa Aha'is willing to pay their proportionate share of th~ <br /> cost to hire an appraiser to appraise the value of the Joint <br /> 0utfall Sewer System. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Mrs. Weston Walker, Co-Chairman, Civic <br />Beautification Committee extending invitation to the Council to <br />attend first quarterly meeting to be held July 21, 1949 in the <br />Council Chambers. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy <br />and carried, Clerk was directed to poll the Council to determine <br />how many will attend, and communication received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the <br />request of Chief of Police for permission to leave the State for <br />the purpose of returning a prisoner from New Orleans, La., was <br />sranted. <br />Communication was read from City Engineer, stating that $50,000.0( <br />will be required for the Sanitary Sewer Construction Fund, which <br />money should be withdrawn from the bond issue money now invested <br />in Government Bonds; also, recommendation of City Auditor that <br />such transfer of money be made. On motion of Trustee Reed, <br />seconded by Mandy and carried, the City Treasurer was authorized <br />to deposit the amount of $50,000.00 in the Sewer Construction Fun~ <br />the amount of $30,780.00 in the Interest and Sinking Fund credita~ <br />to the Municipal Bond Account, representing a portion of interest <br />received on United States Savings Notes, and the balance of <br />$900,000.00 of Bond issue to be reinvested in United States <br />Savings Notes, Series "D", as set forth in letter of the Treasure <br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, <br />map, as corrected by the City Engineer, submitted by Kerr Bros. <br />for two 30 ft. driveways on Berkeley and tkree 27 ft. drivew~ays o <br />So. Main St., in connection with service station to be constructed <br />on the southeast corner of Berkeley and Main Sts., was approved, <br />with provision that words "self-service station" be omitted from <br />any maps or forms which might be submitted to the City. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the <br />Mayor was authorized to sign escrow instructions and the <br />following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution Accepting Deed Granting Easement" <br /> <br />from First National Bank in Santa Aha, and Mad. line B. Harding, <br />formerly Madeline B. Bablyon, conveying an easement for all the <br />purposes and uses of a public street, being a strip of land 60 <br />feet in width being 30 feet on each side of a portion of a street <br />to be known as Towner Street, was read, considered, designated <br />Resolution No. 3812 and passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> <br />
