<br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded
<br />by Martin and carried, the bid of American Cast Iron Pipe Company, in the
<br />amount of $0.92 per foot was accepted covering the furnishing of 5,000 ft.
<br />$" Bell and Spigot Mono-cast "Enamelined" centrifugal pipe, class 150, in
<br />
<br />16 ft. lengthsg delivery within approximately twenty days.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried copy of a
<br />notice of hearing ~o be held before the California Public Utilities
<br />Commission on March 27th and copy of Western Union Telegraph Company's
<br />application for authorization ~o establish a new rate struc~e on intra-
<br />state telegraph service within the State of California, were received and
<br />
<br />filed.

<br />On motion of T~wastee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, communication
<br />from State Highway Engineer, reference widening of Main Street was received,
<br />filed and copy ordered forwarded to Secretary South Main Street Improvement
<br />Association.

<br />Request from City Engineer was read to set the curb 3 feet back on the south
<br />side of Tenth Street between Main and Bush Streets to provide more traffie
<br />room and approval to widen said street. On motion of T~ustee Chandler,
<br />seconded by Martin and carried, requests were granted and map of Engineer
<br />
<br />approved.
