<br /> following Resolution entitled:

<br /> "Resolution Accepting Grant Deed"

<br /> from Letta C. Morgan for right-of-way at the southeast corner of
<br /> lOth and Bush Streets, for widening and sSraightening the inter-
<br /> section, was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 3918 and
<br /> passed by the following vote:

<br /> John W. Martin Jr., Virgil H. Reed,
<br /> Allen A. Mandy.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,

<br /> request of Park Superintendent to hire a night man to work at the
<br /> Municipal Bowl during the summer months, was g~anted.

<br /> On motion of Tx-astee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, request
<br /> cf Park Superintendent to hire a night man to work at the Santa
<br /> Aha City Memorial Park during the softball season, was granted.
<br />
<br /> On motion of T~ustee Reed, seeonded by Chandler and carried,
<br /> request of Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company for a pedestrial
<br /> walkway on ~msh Street between 5th and 6th Streets, was referred
<br />
<br /> to the Chief cf Police to investigate and repot back..

<br /> Communication from George Dunton was read requesting that present
<br /> inequity in City Sales Tax law be co~rected and on motion of
<br /> Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, committee was
<br /> appointed to give the matter further study and report back at the
<br /> next meeting. Trustees Reed, Martin, Clerk and Attorney, were
<br />
<br /> appointed, as co~mittee.

<br /> On motion of T~ustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />
<br />request of League of United Latin American Citizens to conduct
<br />public dances at the V.F.W. Hall, on Saturday nights, for a period
<br />
<br /> of six months, was granted with proviso that Use and Occupancy
<br />
<br /> Certificate be obtained from the Building Department.

<br /> On motion of T~ustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, the
<br /> r~ecommendation of the Planning Commission was accepted, subject to
<br /> certain conditions, and tentative Map cf Tract No. 1~15 was
<br />
<br /> appr ove d.

<br /> On'mo$ion of. Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br /> application of Ralph O. Clayton to drive a bus was g~anted and
<br />
<br /> permit ordered issued.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br /> resignation of Frank L. Bowman, as a member of the Recreation
<br /> Board, was accepted and Clerk instructed to write letter of thanks
<br />
<br /> tO ~r. Bowman for his services.
