Thompsol was granted. as patrolmen, On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and car- ried, the request of Edward D. Wheeler, former fireman, for permission to move to ~orthern California for an in- definite period, for his health, was re~erred to the City Attorney ~'or investigation to report back at the next meeting of the Council. , On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carried, the request of Arthur Taylor, Chairman of the American Red Cross Fund, to han~ Red Cross flags at five intersec- tions on Fourth Street; to place four booths on sidewalks during solicitation period and to place cards on the lamp poles in downtown Santa Aha, was granted. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and car- ried, the applications of ~arion I. Prather, James J. Pollard, Erick Wertheimer, Ed Shoemaker and Robert LeRoy to drive taxicabs for the Broadway Cab Company, were granted and Clerk instructed to issue permits. Welsh, dba The Home Msrket, 310 E. First Street, and by Eo L. Roehm, dba ~iarquis Cafe, 310-12 N. Birch Street, were received and filed. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and car- ried, t~e application of the Santa Aha Neon Company to hang an electrical sign for Earl T. Johnston, 309 Bush Street, was granted and sign ordered hung under the super. vision of the Electrical Inspector.
