On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Haan and carried, the Nayor was ~equested to appoint a con~nittee of three, including himself, to investigate these bids and report back at the next ne eting. The Nayor appointed Trustees Dixon and Haan on this committeee Communication from Chief of Police requesting appropriat of funds and leave of absence in order to attend International Chiefs of Police convention at Niami, Florida from approximately Dec. 8th to Dec. 25th, 1945, was read and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, the request was denied. ion At this time Trustee Dixon requested permission to be excused from the Meeting and the Chairman of the Boar~ granted the request. Comm~ication from Faulkner, Oakes & Faulkner request- ing consideration in the matter of auditing records and financial transactions of the City of Santa Ana, was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, conmaunication was received and filed Communication from Pres. American Assoc. of University Women extending invitation to the Council to attend meeting to be held Nov. 8th at the Orange Women's Club, was read and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was received and filed and Clerk to notify Pres. A.A.U.W. that the Council cannot attend due to previous engagements. Communication from District Director, Office of Price Administration expressing thanks for use of premises located at ll4~ No. Broadway, was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was received and filed. Communication from Pres. Union Appraisal Co. requesting an opportunity to discuss matter of appraising City properties was read and on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Deckert and carried, communication was received and filed. Communication from Chief of Police requesting appointme~ of Mabel M. Price, as Clerk, in the Police Dept., was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, communication was received and filed.
