Gold Star Mothers <br /> requesting that concerted move be made by civic author- <br /> ities to purchase outright the AAFWTC building on W. 8th <br /> St. to be used for the purpose of a permanent war memorial <br /> and communication from Cormnander, John Robert Booth Post <br /> 7140 VFW requesting that former Army Headquarters building <br /> on W. 8th St. be converted into a veterans war memorial, <br /> were referred to the Chairman of the Board for further <br /> study by the Council when City secures title to the <br /> property on W. 8th Street. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, cormnunication from Altrusa Club stating they <br />have endorsed and approved the proposed City Recreation <br />Park and communication from Native Sons of the Golden <br />West stating they passed a resolution sponsoring the <br />present City park campaign, were received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication from Secy. Board of Education requesting <br />action on abandonment of Fifteenth Street, which lies <br />within the Junior College site was read and on motion <br />of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br />City Attorney was instructed to ~epare resolution for <br />the abandonment of Fifteenth Street. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and <br /> carried, communication from Chamber of Con~nerce recommend- <br /> ing that the City of Santa Ana adopt a one-half cent <br /> sales tax, was received and filed. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />Cozmnunication from Secy. Santa Ana City Schools stating <br />that stop signs at French and Washington intersection are <br />no longer required, was read and on motion of Trustee <br />Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, matter was <br />referred to Street Superintendent and Street Commissioner <br />to report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Communication from Chief of Police advising of appoint- <br />ment of George M.
