On reco~mnendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, cormn- unication was held over until next meeting of the Counci On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, the request of Thatcher & Hollingsworth for 30 days extension of contract for removal of temporary building located on the south side of W. l?th St., east of Patton St., was granted for a period of thirty days from August 1st, 1946, providing the bond liability is extended. On recommendation of the Chairman of the Boa~d and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the City Engineer and Auditor were instructed to prepare specifications and advertise for bids for the waterproofing and Dainting of the Bowers Memorial Museum; bids to be opened August Sth, 1946. On recommendation of the Chairman of the Board and on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Deckert and carried, the City Engineer and Auditor were instructed to prepare specifications and advertise for bids for the waterproofing and painting of the City Hall; bids to be opened August 8th, 1946. Petitions were read signed by 39 merchants on or near Na~n Street requesting the abolishment of parking restric tions in eCfect from 4 to 6 P.~. on Main Street between 1st and 6th Streets. On motion of Trustee Deckert, sec- onded by by Dixon and carried, the minute order of the City Council at its meeting held July 1st, 1946, was re- ordered to scinded; and traffic officers/continue to be stationed on Main Street at 2nd, ~rd and 8th Streets and no left turns be permitted at said intersections. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and car- ried, the City Clerk and Engineer were authorized to write to the Dept. of Public Highways req~esting a surve to be conducted for installation of traffic signals on payment Main Street at Third, Fifth and Bishop Streets and/expen of said survey authorized. No written or oral protests were received and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "Ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 1074" and that Sheet No. 19 of the districting map o~ the City of Santa Ana be amended to reclassify as R-3, all proper- ty now classified as R-1 and R-2, described as follows:
