City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Hoffman. <br /> <br />Present: T~stees Dale G. <br /> Otto R. <br /> <br />Absent: Trustees None <br /> <br />Deckert, W. National Shade Tree Conference <br />extending invitation to Council to attend Conference to <br />be held at Riverside, May 2Jrd, 24th and ~5th was read <br />and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, communication was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication from Pres.Santa Ana City Schools express- <br />ing appreciation for plaque presented to the Team and <br />School thru winning the championship of Southern <br />California in the C.I.F. Division in 1945, was read and <br />on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, communication was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication from Veterans Organizations extending <br />invitation to the Council to attend meeting to be held <br />in the "Little Theater" of the Santa Aha High Schhol <br />Feb. 8th, at 8 P.M. was read and on motion of Trustee <br />Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication from City Engineer advising that improve- <br />ments on Westwood and 18th through Tract 109S have been <br />completed was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, <br /> <br /> seconded by Cheney and carried, communication was receiv <br /> and filed and Clerk authorized to release bond of E.C. <br /> Rogers in the amount of $1,000.00. <br /> <br />Resignation of Thomas McMullen, police officer, effect- <br />ive Feb. 1st, 1946 was read and on motion of Trustee <br />Dixon, seconded by Decke~t and carried, communication <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />A petition signed by ten residents and property owners <br />in the vicinity of Broadway and Pomona Sts., requesting <br />mthat a street light be installed at the intersection was <br />read. <br /> <br />,d <br /> <br /> <br />
