On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, application of National Brotherhood of Service for permission to hold their armual "Brotherhood Day" flower sale for the benefit of the blind and handicapped on Saturday, August 17th, 1946, was Mranted. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, notifications of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage applications made by Orval ~,[. Kuykendall, 2321 N. ~,~ain St. and Lewis C. Elliott, ~12 E. 4th St., were received and filed. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, applications of Arthur D. Lewis, John Nightingale, Muriel E. Nichols and Kenneth Paul Fontaine to drive taxicabs were granted and Clerk authorized to issue licenses; on recommendation of the Chief of Police application of William J. Replogle to drive taxicabs was denied and Clerk authorized to refund license fee. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Dixon and carried, communication from David R. ~Ic~lillan, Probation to ~urvey and 0fffcer, relative/study or delinquency and youth services in Orange County, W.mS referred to Police Commissioner to reoo~t back at the next meeting. Co~y of commumicatton from Civil Service Board addressed to Chief of t~tre Department requesting termination of employment of all emergency appointees effective as of Sept. l, ~o46, and, copy of communication addressed to Chief of Police Department requestin~ terminatfon of emplo?r~ent of all emergency appointees effective as of Sept. l, 1946, with the exception of Robert Elliott, now employed on temporary basis pending recruitment exam- ination were read and on motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, communications were received, adopted and placed on file. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and ~rried, bond of Paul C. Wetzel, doinE business as A-1 ~Touse ~ov~r, deleting the last sentence ~n p~ra~raoh ~ of bond, was anproved.
