In Re Request - Driveway Santa Ana Lumber Co Communication was read from Harold Most, Secy. of the Board of Education, relative to changes in lease of Vocational Rehabilitation Dept. at Headquarters building, namely - to pay rental at the end of each month, and insertion of a thirty day cancellation clause in the lease,beginning Oct. 1st, 1946. On motion of Trustee Ha~n, seconded by Mr. Cheney and carried, the changes in the lease of the Vocat- ional Rehabilitation Dept. as outlined above were accepted, and the Clerk instructed to notify Mr. Yost of this action. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carri4d, the communication of the Federal Public Housing Authority stating that no request had been made by the City of Santa Ana for approval of a depository for funds from the City's veterans' housing project, was referred to the City Auditor for confirmation and report. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the appointment of Lt. Wm. Nielsen of the Traffic Department, was approved, to act as representative of the city for the promotion of safety on streets and highways in connection with the Accident Prevention Bureau. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, the request of the First Church of Christ, 920 North Main Street, to post "No Parking" signs on the south side of Tenth between Main and Sycamore was referred to the Street Commissioner and City Engineer for investigation and report back. 0~ motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, the application of Mike Jimenez to hold a public dance in the hall at Third and Ross on October 31st, was granted. ,, On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication of E. R. Segal regarding the Pacific Electric service between Santa Ana and Los Angeles,was received and filed. The request of the Santa Aha LUmber Company was read, to cut the curb for a 108 ft. driveway on Artesia Street at its place of business, On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, the request was granted on re- comendation of the City Engineer.with the provision that if the, d~iveway becomes a traffic menace same shall be abandoned and ~he curb rebuilt by the Santa Aha Lumber Co.
