Segal. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Request - Driveway <br /> <br />Santa Ana Lumber Co <br /> <br />Communication was read from Harold Most, Secy. of the Board <br />of Education, relative to changes in lease of Vocational <br />Rehabilitation Dept. at Headquarters building, namely - <br />to pay rental at the end of each month, and insertion of a <br />thirty day cancellation clause in the lease,beginning Oct. <br />1st, 1946. On motion of Trustee Ha~n, seconded by Mr. <br />Cheney and carried, the changes in the lease of the Vocat- <br />ional Rehabilitation Dept. as outlined above were accepted, <br />and the Clerk instructed to notify Mr. Yost of this action. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carri4d, <br />the communication of the Federal Public Housing Authority <br />stating that no request had been made by the City of Santa <br />Ana for approval of a depository for funds from the City's <br />veterans' housing project, was referred to the City <br />Auditor for confirmation and report. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the appointment of Lt. Wm. Nielsen of the Traffic <br />Department, was approved, to act as representative of the <br />city for the promotion of safety on streets and highways <br />in connection with the Accident Prevention Bureau. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, <br />the request of the First Church of Christ, 920 North Main <br />Street, to post "No Parking" signs on the south side of <br />Tenth between Main and Sycamore was referred to the Street <br />Commissioner and City Engineer for investigation and report <br />back. <br /> <br />0~ motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, <br />the application of Mike Jimenez to hold a public dance in <br />the hall at Third and Ross on October 31st, was granted. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br /> <br />carried, communication of E. R. Segal regarding the <br />Pacific Electric service between Santa Ana and Los <br /> <br />Angeles,was received and filed. <br /> <br />The request of the Santa Aha LUmber Company was read, to <br />cut the curb for a 108 ft. driveway on Artesia Street at <br />its place of business, On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded <br />by Deckert and carried, the request was granted on re- <br />comendation of the City Engineer.with the provision that <br />if the, d~iveway becomes a traffic menace same shall be <br />abandoned and ~he curb rebuilt by the Santa Aha Lumber Co. <br /> <br /> <br />
