Communication from the Santa Aha Junior Chamber of Commerce was read setting forth plans for a Childrens, Hollowe'en Ni Jinks program be held in the Municipal Bowl and request- ing a contribution of $25.00 financial assistance. On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and carried, the p~a ns for the program were accepted and payment of $25.00 authorized to assist the Santa Ana Junior Chamber of Commerce. On motion or Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, communication of the Santa Ana Junior Chamber of Commerce relative to Hallowe'en Hi Jinks was received and filed, and permission given to hold street dance on Sixth Street between Broadway and Sycamore Streets. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, the check in the amount of $8,466.34 of the Southern Calif. Telephone Company covering franchise payment for the year ending Oct. 12, 1946, was ordered deposited and communication attached was referred to the City Auditor for checking. On motion of Trustee Ha~n, seconded by Cheney and carried, the City Clerk was instructed to submit a statement of change of boundaries of the City of Santa Aha in accord- ance with Section 3?20 of the Political Code covering annexed territory of Southeast Santa Ana to the County Assessor and the State Board of Equalization oh or before February in compliance with communication of George Bradley, City Attorney. Communication of C. H. Eckles, Owner of the Santa Ana Bus Service, submitting route of bus service in newly annexed Southeast territory, requesting increase in fares throughout the city of Santa Aha, was read. It was moved by Trustee Deckert, sec~.nded by Cheney and carried, that the Chair appoint a committee to investigate Mr. Eckles' proposals and report back at the next meeting. Committee consisting of the entire Council and the City Engineer was appointed. No protests having been received, on motion of Trustee Ha~n, seconded by Deckert and carried, the application of Ted. C. Staffler to conduct a business of dealing in motor vehicles at 702 No. Main Street was granted and Clerk authorized to issue a license.
