Sturges <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Taxicab Permit <br /> <br />J.K.Haynes & W.N.Lam <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Award of Contract <br /> <br />Cast Iron Pipe <br /> <br />The Clerk commenced the reading of the report of the <br />Taxicab Committee granting application of Robt. G. <br />Sturges to operate the RainbOw Cab Co. at 401 W.Sth St. <br />Delbert Larsh, attorney, for H~gh Staton and E.A.Erb, <br />present owners of Taxicab Companies, appeared before <br />the Council objecting to granting of Taxicab Permit to <br />Robt. G. Sturges on the grounds that the necessity does <br />not exist for the operation of another Taxicab Company. <br />James Walker, attorney, for Robt. G. Sturges, stated <br />that the Taxicab Co~nission has the power to grant or <br />deny applications to operate a Taxicab Company and that <br />his client has confoz~ned to all rules and regulations <br />required by the Taxicab Ordinance. <br /> <br />Cy Featherly appeared before the Council on behalf of <br />Robt. G. Sturges, stating that to his knowledge and <br />belief Robt. G. Sturges intends to operate a well <br />regulated Taxicab Company and is entitled to a peEnit <br />to operate such Taxicab Company. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and <br />carried, the appeal was denied and action of the <br />Taxicab Con~nittee upheld and sustained. <br /> <br />Roll Call Trustees Ayes Dale G. Sturges was grqnted a permit to <br />operate the Rainbow Cab Company at 401 West Fifth St., <br />within the limitations of his application covering <br />the operation of four taxicabs. <br /> <br /> Chairman of the <br />The recommendation of the/Taxicab Committee on the <br /> <br />application of J.K.Haynes and W.M.Lam to operate a <br />Taxicab Company, to be known as the "Lo Fare Cab Co." <br />was read and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by <br />Haan and carried, matter was held over until next <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Delbert Larsh, attorney for Broadway Cab Co. and Black <br />and Green Cab Co., filed an oral notice of appeal <br />against granting of a permit to J.K.Haynes and W.M.Lam <br />to operate a taxicab company. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Committee and on motion of <br />Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, contract <br />was awarded to the National Cast Iron Pipe Co. covering <br />the furnishing of 5000 feet of twelve inch diameter <br />Enameline (cement lined) class 150, bell and spigot <br />cast iron pipe; and 2000 feet of eight inch diameter <br /> <br /> <br />
