In Re Quotations Drilling of well at City Dump APPROVED: J ~(ayor of th~ ~ty of Santa Ana. introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading. Commtu~ication from City Engineer recommending that left hand turns at Zrd and Main Sts. be eliminated by busses and trucks; that parking be eliminated on Main St. between 1st and 6th Sts. to provide two traffic lanes each way through the business district and parking be prohibited on both sides of Ma~n St. from 1st to 6th Sts. between 4 P.~. ~nd 6 P.M. except on the east side between 8th and 8th Sts. where the curb is set back, was read. On reco~muendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried, matter was referred to a committee composed of Trustees Haan and Cheney to report back at the next meeting. On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Haan and carried, two overhead or mast arm lights were ordered installed on Lyon Street between 1st St. and Chestnut Avenue. On recommendation of Trustee Cheney, of the City Engineer and on motion seconded by Haan and carried, a hand operated pedestrian traffic signal could not be installed at 1st and Lyon Streets as this is a State Highway and Clerk directed to notify Nadie Kaufman, circulator of the petition, of this action. The purchasing AGent submitted two quotations on the drilling of a well at the City Dn~p, as follows: David McCalla ~, 1,11~.80 ~¥alter 0.~ Hill 1,1~1.25 0u moti~r of Trustee Cheney, seconded by gaa~ c~rried, the two quotations wer~ rejected and Purchasi Agent ~uthorized to have the well drilled at a cost not to exceed '~I~$.00 per foot.
