City Council met in regular session. Meeting-called to order by Mayor Hoffman. Present: Trustees Dale Go Deckert, Otto R. Haan, W.J.Cheney, Asa Hoffman Absent: Trustees W. Eugene Dixon The Clerk comenced the reading of the Minutes and each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of April 15th, April 16th and April 23rd, 1946, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Cheney and carried. In Re Communication Chief of Police Convention - Santa Cruz In Re Appointments & Resignations Fire Dept. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Minutes of the meeting of the Executive Board of the Joint 0utfall Sewer held at Anaheim, May 2, 1946, were approved, received and filed. On recormnendation of the Building Inspector and on motio~ of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, Glen Cave was reinstated as a member of the Board of Electrics Examiners and Clerk instructed to write letter to N. Wallingford thanking him for his services while on the Board. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, communication from Building Contractors Assoc. requesting an increase in salaries for Inspectors, was received and filed. Request from Chief of Police for $150.00 to attend International Association for Identification, California Division, Convention to be held at Santa Cruz, was read. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, the Fingerprint representative of the Police Department was instructed to attend this Convention from May 8th to llth inclusive and upon his return file an expense account with the Auditor which will be honored b the Finance Committee. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, communication from Fire Chief advising that Wm. H. Puffer was reinstated to his former position as Hosem~ on April 1st, 1946 and that the following members of the Department resigned by verbal notice; effective ~ates are as follows:' Harper Housley, April 12th; J. Almus Riggs April 16th; Robert Campbell, April 18th. Former members of the emergency employment list who were recently discha from the U.S. Armed Forces were hired to replace them; ed
