<br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and
<br />carried, application of Clarence F. Murphy to drive
<br />taxis for the Black and Green Cab Co., was granted and
<br />Clerk authorized to issue license.

<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and
<br />carried, application of Orange County Chapter of Indoor
<br />Sports' Club, Inc., to solicit funds on Saturday, Feb.
<br />9th, 1946, to be known as "I have helped Day", was
<br />grant ed.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and
<br />carried, the application of Robert G. Sturges to
<br />operate a Taxicab Company, to be known as the "Rainbow
<br />Cab Company", at 401 West Fifth St., was referred to
<br />the Taxicab Committee to report back at the next
<br />meeting.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and
<br />carried, communication from Fire Chief advising of
<br />reappointment of E.G. Gates, Assistant Chief, Jan. l,
<br />1946 and J.J.Hansen, Captain, Jan. 1Sth, 1946, and
<br />recommending that Herbert Woodyard be retained as a
<br />regular member of the Department, was received and
<br />filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and
<br />carried, the resignation of Robert 0. Burchfield,
<br />police officer, was received and filed.

<br />A petition was read containing 119 signatures requesti~
<br />annexation of contiguous property located southeast~"oF
<br />Santa Ana and on motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by
<br />Cheney and carried, petition was referred to City
<br />Attorney for checking and to report back at the next
<br />meeting.
