Sauta Ana was accepted and Clerk <br />instructed to return bonds to unsuccessful bidders. <br /> <br />The recommendation of the Secretary of the Planning <br />Commission that set back lines be established on West <br />1Vth St., between Flower St. and the west city limit lind <br />so that no building would be permitted closer than fifty~ <br />(SO) feet to the center line of the street, was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried, <br />the recommendation of the Secretary of the Planntr~ <br />Conmnission, was accepted. <br /> <br />The recommendation of the Secretary of the Planning <br />Commission that Artesia St. be developed into a through <br />street, both to the north and the south, and that Lot <br />"X" of Tract No. 451 be held for street purposes, was <br />read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon and carried <br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission w~s <br />accepted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Deckert and <br />carried, communication and Resolution No. 75 of the <br />Planning Co~mnission approving application for variance <br />of Commercial Properties Inc. and Sears Roebuck & Co., <br />subject to conditions specified in Resolution No. 75, on <br />the following described property: Ail that certain real <br />property bounded on the west by South Broadway; on the <br />east by South Main Street; on the north by West Pomona <br />Street, and on the south by the north line of Tract No. <br />289, in Santa Ana, to permit the establishment of store <br />buildings, including buildings for a department store <br />and mail order business on that portion of the above <br />described property lying East of the extension of the <br />west line of South Sycamore Street across said property, <br />and also automobile parking anywhere on said property, <br />was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, communication and Resolution No. ~8 of the <br />Planning Commission approving application of Frank A.C. <br />Fairley to permit construction of dwelling on the rear <br />of N.W. ~ of Lot ll, Morse Villa Tract, also known as <br />950 West Bishop St., in an R-B District, was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, the Clerk was instructed to publish a notice of <br />hearing in a newspaper of general circulation, ten days <br />prior to next meeting of the Council on June l?th, 1948, ! <br />relative to amendment to Zoning Ordinance of the follow- <br /> <br /> <br />
