Leland - <br />Juvenile Dept. <br /> <br />Communication from Santa Aha Board of Realtors, together <br />with Resolution approving proposed annexation of prop- <br />erty described as the territory to the South of Santa <br />Ana, beginning at a point at the S.W. corner of S. Main <br />and Delhi, thence south along the west side of S. Main <br />to the south side of the Santa Ana Air Base, then west <br />to Harbor Blvd. then north to Baker, then east on Baker <br />to an intersection of an extension of S. Bristol and <br />then north to the City limits; the extension of Bristol <br />to connect at Newport Boulevard, and which includes <br />Santa Ana Army Air Base site, was read. <br /> <br />Messrs. James Workman and H.B.Hearle appeared before <br />the Council requesting that this property be annexed to <br />the City of Santa Ana and to be used for a future <br />industrial expansion site. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, matter was referred to the Council as a whole <br />and City Attorney for study and Clerk instructed to <br />write a letlJer to Realty Board stating that the Council <br />will cooperate with them and welcome any suggestions <br />that they may offer. <br /> <br />,, <br /> <br />Co~mLunication from Department of Commerce advising that <br />Haster Farm Naval Auxiliary Air Field, located approx- <br />imately three miles east of Westminster, has been <br />declared surplus to the needs of the government and <br />requesting that the City of Santa Aha advise if it is <br />desirous of acquiring this property for airport use, <br />was read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and <br />carried, the Clerk was instructed to advise the Depart- <br />ment of Commerce that the City of Santa Ana is not <br />interested in acquiring this property for an airport. <br /> <br />Communication from Frances Smith, principal of Logan <br />School, Lyle B. Mitchell, Principal of Frances E. Willard <br />Jr. High School, Mrs. Grace W. Rankin, Commissioner <br />Santa Ana Girl Scout Council and Mrs. Frances Baker, <br />Executive Director, Santa Ana Girl Scout Council, <br />reference Civil Service rules and regulations pertaining <br />to status of Eliz. Leland in the Juvenile Department~ <br />which disqualifies her due to a ge, were read. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and <br />carried, Clerk was instructed to write these parties <br />and advise that this matter is handled through the <br /> <br />Civil Service Board. <br /> <br /> <br />
