Ed Marley for Request of/M. Eltiste & Co. Inc. that approximately seventeen palm trees be removed from the parking in fron of their property on the south side of E. 1st St. beginning approximately 280 feet west of Lyon St. and running west to the intersection of Wright St., was read. On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and carried, communication was received and filed until such time as proper plans are presented to the Council for their study. ,, On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, request of The Foundation Press for a loading zone at 214 W. 8th Street, was denied and Clerk instructed to advise the Foundation Press of this action On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication of the Planning Commission recommending acquisition of right of way and revision of free-way plans outside of the City limits near Placentia Ave. and U.S. lO1 Highway to accomodate Bristol Street connections, was approved and Mayor authorized to write letter to Board of Supervisors requesting surveys to be made as outlined in recommendations of the Planning Commission. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, application of H.A.Bradley to conduct the business o2 dealing in motor vehicles at 207 E. First St was granted and Clerk authorized to issue license. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and carried, report of the Police Department for the month of May, 1946, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Cheney and carried, notifications of the State Board of Equalizati~ of alcoholic beverage applications made by Benjamin and Flossie N. Baker, Otto H. and Ruth E. Grigg, at 804 No. Flower St., Veterans of Foreign Wars, Inc. 411-~ W. 4th St., and Alton L. and Opal B. Booth, 1711 W. 8th St.~ were received and filed.
