Co. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the City Engineer advising that improve- <br />ments within the boundaries of Tract No. 1506 have been satisfactorily <br />completed and on motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and <br />carried, the bond filed by the Continental Casualty Company, for <br />Raymar Development Company, in the sum of $43,000.00, was ordered <br />released. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the City Engineer submitting permits from <br />the Pacific Electric Railway for the installation of storm sewer pipe <br />under the tracks at Fourth and Shelton Streets, and to construct a <br />storm drain where Hobart Street would cross the tracks if extended <br />easterly. On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and carrie~ <br />the permits were approved and proper official authorized to execute <br /> <br />Communication was read from J.A. Sche~man, State Forest Ranger, Chief <br />of Fire Services of Area X requesting advice as to whether Fire Chief <br />Garthe will be authorized to serve as an alternate SerVice Fire Chief <br />for Orange County. The Administrator recommended that Fire Chief <br />Garthe be authorized to serve as alternate Service Fire Chief for Area <br />X with the reservation that no demands be made upon the Fire Chief for <br />Area X until such time as the responsibility for Civil Defense <br />ion in Santa Ana is clearly passed. On motion of Trustee Hunter, <br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the request was approved as stipulated <br />by the Administrator and Administrator instructed to reply to <br /> <br />Nr. Schermant s communication. <br /> <br />Communication was read from the City Engineer submitting escrow <br />instructions for an easement for street and sewer purposes, along an <br />extension of Myrtle Street, covering property owned by Frard~ A. <br />Showalter. On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and <br />carried, proper official was authorized to sign escrow instructions <br /> <br />with said person for an easement, in the amount of ~800.00. <br />,, <br />On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Jerome and carried, the ap- <br />plications of Carlue C. Keller, Jr., Eugene L. Wood and Edward J. <br />to drive taxicabs, were received and permits granted. <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by seven residents and property owners <br />requesting that street lights be installed at the intersection of <br />Martha Lane and English, Fifteenth and English, Fifteenth and Ling and <br />one light half way between English and King on Fifteenth. On motion <br />of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Jerome and carried, the request was <br />referred to .the Administrator and City Engineer with power to act. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and carried, proper <br />officials were authorized to execute Lease No. 9818 between the City <br />and Pacific Electric Railway Company covering location of a private <br />road crossing over Company's New,port Beach Line right-of-way, <br /> <br />Sept. l, 1951 and ending August 31, 1952, and Lease No. 12630 for a <br />triangularly shaped parcel of land being a portion of Company's <br /> <br />Beach Line right-of-way, westerly of Santa Aha, beginuing October l, <br />l~51 and ending Sept. 30, 1952, at rentals of $5.00 per annum or <br />fraction thereof. <br /> <br /> <br />
