RESOLUTION NO. 58-296 DECLARING INTENTION TO CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THAT CERTAIN TERRITORY HEREIN DESIGNATED IngEST SANCTA ANA ANNEX" TO SUBMIT ~HE QUESTION OF A~EXATION TO THE CITY 0F SANTA ANA TO THE ELECTORS RESIDING IN SAID TERRITORY AND FIXING A DAY AND HOUR FOR PROPERTY OWNERS TO SHOW CAUSE WHY SAID TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED WHEREAS, heretofore at the request of residents and property owners within the area hereinbelow described, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana adopted a Resolution No. 58-243 consenting to the cormuencement of proceedings for the annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, thereafter the proponents of said annexation published notice of intention to circulate petition for said annexation and filed a copy thereof accompmuled by a v~itten statement of reasons therefor, togetaer with the affidavit of publication thereof, and the City Council adopt ed Resolution No. ~8-260, among other things, approving circulation of a petition in said area for annexation to the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, thereafter said petition was circulated and duly filed and has now been presented to said City Council, together with the Certificate of the Clerk of the Council and the County Cle~, certifying that said petitions represent more than one-fourth of the qualified electors residing within said territory. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds that a petition, requesting that the territory hereinbelow described be annexed $o the City of Sauta Ana, has been filed with and received by this Council and that the same is signed by more than one-fourth of the qualified electors residing within said territory; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said City Council hereby declares its intention to call a special election to submit to the electors re- siding therein the question of the annexation of said territory to the City of Santa Ar~, which territory is hereby designated as "West. Santa Ana Annex", an appropriate name by which said territory may be referred to upon the ballots used in said election.
