CITY OF SANTA ANA. <br /> <br /> The Board <br />resolve as follows, <br /> <br /> SECTION I. <br /> <br /> of Trustees of the City of Santa Aha do <br /> to-wit: <br /> <br />That t~e fei]owing set forth specific,- <br />tions shall be the stqndard specifications for Portland Cemeut <br /> <br />to be used in all <br />shall be known <br />lows ,. t o-wit 'Y <br /> <br />street work in the City of Santa Aha, and <br /> <br />"Standard SDecificstion Number 10", ss fol- <br /> <br /> CI~"/ OF $;~NTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS NUMBER <br /> Portland Cement.. <br /> <br />SECTION L SPECIFICATIONS AND TESTS. <br /> <br /> All Portland Cement shall meet the requirements of the Standard Specifications and <br /> Tests for Portland Cement, Serial Designation C 9-21, approved March 31, 1922, aa <br /> "American Standard," by the American Engineering Standards Committee. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. PACKAGES, MARKING AND STORAGE. <br /> Thc cement shall be delivered in suitable hags or barrels with the brand and name <br /> of the manufacturer plainly marked thereon. A bag of cement shall contain ninety-four <br /> (94) pounds net, and will be considered as equivalent to one (1) cubic foot. A barrel shall <br /> contain three hundred seventy-sin (376) pounds net. and will be considered as equivalent <br /> to four (4) cubic feet. <br /> The cement shall be stored in such a manner as to permit easy access for proper <br /> inspection and identification of each shipment, and in a suitable weather-tight building <br /> which will protect the cement from dampness. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. INSPECTION. <br /> Every facility shall be provided the Superintendent of Streets for careful sampling <br /> and inspection at either the mill or at the site of the work, as may be specified by him. <br /> When a seven (7) day test is required by the Superintendent of Streets, at least ten (1~) <br /> days from the time of sampling shall be allowed for the completion of the test, and at I~ast <br /> thirty-one (31) days shall be allowed for the completion of the twenty-eight (28) day ~ <br /> The cement shall be tested in accordance with the methods hereinafter prescribed. Tho <br /> twenty-eight (28) day test shall be waived only when specifically ordered. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. REJECTION. <br /> The cement may be rejected if it fails to meet any of the requirements of these speci= <br /> fcations. <br /> <br /> Cement shall not be rejected on account of failure to meet the fineness requirement if, <br /> upo~ retest nfler ~ at one hundred (100) degrees Centigrade for one hour, it meets <br /> <br /> a retest ming a unW ~ at aa}' time within twen~-ei~a (~) days <br /> <br />and if the avecage we~t of i~:knges in asY ~, as showa by <br />peckng~ tak, e, at random, is ~,, than that ,~e~6e~ <br /> <br /> I hereby eertLey that the foregoing Resolution was <br />duly and regularly passed by the Board of Trustees of the City <br />of Santa Aha, at a-regular meeting thereof held on the 2nd day <br />of March, 1925, by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees C.N.
