Sec. 6, That the polls shall be open between the ho,ams of 7 <br />o'clock A. N, and ? o'clock ?. M, <br /> Sec, ?. That the election officers serving at said consolidated <br />election to be held November 5, 19A~, shall receive as compensation for <br />their services in serving upon said election boards, the sum to be fi~d <br />by the Board of Supervisors of the county of Orange. <br /> Sec. 8. That said election shall in all respects be conducted <br /> <br />as provided by law. <br /> Sec. 9. The City Clerk is hereby directed and instructed to cause <br /> such proposed charter to be published once in the Santa Ana Register, <br /> the official newspaper of the City of Santa Ana, and in each edition there- <br /> of duming the day of publication, which publication shall be made and <br /> c~m~leted not less than 40 nor mO~e than 80 days prior to November 5~ 1946, <br /> the date of said election, and shall, commencing forthwith, and continuing <br /> until the day fixed for the election upon such charter, advertise t.n one <br /> or more newspapers of general circulation in said City of Santa Aha, a <br /> notice that copies of said charter may be had upon application therefor, <br /> at the office of the City Clerk in the City Hall, Santa Ana, California. <br /> Sec. 10. The City Clerk is further directed and instructed to <br /> publish before the day of such election, by two insertions in the Santa <br /> Ana Register, a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed, published <br /> and circulated in the City of Santa Aha, a notice containing a synopsis <br /> of the question or measure to be submitted at said election, and which <br /> notice shall be substantially as follows: <br /> "MEASURE TO BE VOTED ON: <br /> <br /> "Notice is hereby given that the following <br /> measure is to be voted on at a special municipal <br /> election to be held in the City of Santa Ana on <br /> Tuesday the §th day of November, 1945, to-wit: <br /> "shall the proposed charter of the City of <br /> Santa Ana be adopted?" <br /> "Said charter provides: For a City Council of <br /> seven members, including a Mayor; for a City <br /> Manager; and for all other officers, beards and <br /> commissions necessary or expedient for the <br /> government of the City; for the duties of all <br /> officers, boards and commissions, and the manner <br /> of their election or appointment; and in general, <br /> for a complete system of government for the City <br /> of Santa Ans." <br /> <br /> <br />
