<br />is hereby amended to read as follows: "For every person, firm,
<br />or corporation, Conducting, managing, or carrying on the busi-
<br />ness of selling or delivering paraffin,-gasoline, benzine,
<br />engine distillate, or any other petroleum products, by means
<br />of tank wagons, tank trucks, or other vehicles, $5.©0 per quar-
<br />ter per vehicle.

<br /> 7. That Ordinance No. 658 of the City of Santa Ana,
<br />
<br />and that Section 65 thereof which reads: "For every person en-
<br />gaged in the business or occupation of canvassing, or soliciting
<br />or taking orders for any goods, wares or merchandise, sold to
<br />consumers by or through canvassers, directly to consumer,
<br />whether the canvassing be done for i~mediate or future delivery,
<br />$$.00 per day.

<br /> This section shall not apply to any employee, agent
<br />
<br />or representative of any person, firm, or corporation that is
<br />paying a vocational tax to the City of Santa ^ns as specified
<br />in this Ordinance" is amended to read as follows:
<br />
<br /> "Section 65. For every person, firm, or corporation
<br />engaged in the business or occupation of canvassing or solicithE
<br />or taking o~ders for goods, wares or merchandise, sold to,consu-
<br />mers by or through canvassers, directly to the consumer, whether
<br />the canvassing be done for immediate of future delivery, $5.00
<br />per day.
<br />
<br /> A "solicitor" within the meaning of this ordinance
<br />
<br />is defined to be any person who goes from house to house, or
<br />from place to place in the City of Santa Ana, selling or taking
<br />orders for, or offering to sell or take oraers for goods, wares
<br />or merchane~Ise, or any article for future delivery, or for ser-
<br />vice to be performe8 in the future, or for the making manufac-
<br />turing, or repairing of any article for future delivery, provi-
<br />ded, however that this article shall apply only to solicitors
<br />who demand, accept or ~eceive payment or deposit of money in
<br />advance of inal delivery.
<br />
<br /> Any person seeking a license to engage as a solicitor
<br />within the City of Santa ^ns shall make application therefor to
<br />the City Clerk on forms to be provided, stating the name and ad-
<br />dress of the applicant, the kind of goods offered for sale, or
<br />the kind of services to be performed. Such epp~ication shall be
<br />accompanied by a bond in the penal sum of $500.00 executed by a
<br />surety company or by two responsible free-holders residing in
<br />the City of Santa Ana (or in lieu thereof a cash bond in equal
<br />amount), conditioned upon the making of finsl delivery of the
<br />goods ordered, or services to be performed, in accordance with
