Ve~el~ ,, <br /> (SEAL) City Clerk and ex-officio'Clerk of t~e <br /> Board of Trustees of the City of Sa~ ta <br /> Ara, California <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. ~V6 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, <br />PROVIDING FOR THE LIGHTING OF ALL ADVERTISING HANGERS CARRYING <br />IELUMINATING LIGHTS OR FIXTURES, FIXING THE HOUR AT WHICH SAID <br />LIGHTS MUST BE LIGHTED, AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE FAILURE <br />TO SO LIGHT SAID SIGN. <br /> <br /> The Board of Trustees of the City of Santa Ana, <br />California, ordains as follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> THAT WHEREAS~ heretofore in the City of Santa Ara, <br />there have been hung certain lights and advertising signs, known <br />as illuminated advertising signs, a portion of which signs have <br />overhung the streets of the City of Santa &ua; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, maSy of these advertising signs have not <br />been properly lighted; <br /> <br /> The Board of Trustees ordains as follows: <br /> <br /> SECTION I. That all signs in the City of Santa Ara, <br />of an advertising nature, which extend over any part of the <br />sidewalk or street, shall be lighted between the hours of seven <br />o'clock P.N. and nine o'clock P.M., during the months from <br />October first of shy year to April first of the following year; <br />and from seven-thirty P.M. to nine-thirty P.M. during the months <br />from Ap~il first of any year to October first of the same year. <br /> <br /> SECTION II. That should any person or persons either <br />as manager or owner or lessee of any place of business, owning' <br />managing on conducting on being in charge of any signs for adver- <br />tising purposes, extending in part or whole over any of the <br />streets of the City of Santa Ara, refuse or neglect to light the <br />said sign as is herein provided, then the Electrical Inspector cf <br />the City of Santa Ara, or the authorized agent of the said City, <br />shall have the power to take the sign down and to order the <br />lights disconnected. <br /> <br /> SECTION III. The Board of Trustees of the City of <br /> Santa Ara further ordains that it shall be unlawful for any pen- <br /> son, firm or corporation, either as owner, lessee, manager, or <br /> <br /> <br />
