373 of a permit is in excess of $50.00, the applicant shall deposit the sum of $100.00 in addition to the sum chargeable hereunder for the per- mit, and from said deposit the Superintendent of Streets shall deduct the sum of $10.00 for the ~ssuance of a permit for the moving of a building containing not ober fi~e hundred square feet of total floor space, including the floor space of any floor or part thereof above the first, and $10.00 for each addition ten square feet of floor space or fraction thereof~ and also the sum of $20.00 for each twenty- four (24) hours or fraction thereof during which the building occu- pies any portion of a public street in the operation of moving in excess of the first twenty-four (24) hours. In addition to the first deposit of $200.00 the applicant for the permit shall, before the issuance thereof, in the case of every building containing more than five hundred square feet of floor space, file with the Street Superintendent a bond in the sum of $1,000.00, issued by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of California, in a form approved by the City Attorney of the City of Santa Ana, conditioned that if the principal shall fail to fully pay any person, firm or corporation including the City of Santa Ana, who or which sahll suffer any damage that may be done to the streets or improvements thereon, or to any person or property of any description'as a result of the moving of such building, the amount of such bond. Such bond shall be so conditioned that it may be recovered upon at the suit and in the name of any person, firm or corporation so injured. The Superintendent of Streets shall also deduct from said deposit the cost of the service rendered by any employee of said City, in protecting, trimming or cutting any trees along the route of moving. In the event that it becomes necessary to move, or re- place or otherwise change any poles, conduits, standards, wires or other property of utilities, in the streets, which are placed and located acceding to law, franchise and the regulations of the Rail- road Commission of the State of Calif~ nia, governing such locations, the reasonable expense of removal and replacement of same shall be borne by the housemover and deducted ~rom the deposit made by the Street Superintendent, provided the person, firm or corporation owning or controlling said poles, wires, etc., shall have filed with the Street Superintendent an estimate of said work within 48 hours of the time of the service of the Notice of Application of Building Moving permit, as is hereinbefore provided. Wherever such poles, wires, etc., are placed with less clearance than that specified in the laws, and regulations pertain- ing to such matters, borne by the person, operating same.
