electrical wiring, apparatus, fixtures, or from enteril~ <br />fulfilling his duties and of ma$ing such inspection. <br /> <br />Section 12. <br /> <br />any building for the purpose of. <br /> <br /> Whenever the City Electrician shall find any part of any electric wiring, <br />apparatus or fixtures in or about any building, structure or tent in the City of Santa Ana <br />to have been installed without a permit, or not in accordance ~th the provisions of this <br />ordinance, or to be dangerous to life or property, the City Electrician shall have the right <br />and power to disconnect any such defective work, or work installed without a ~ rmit, and <br />place a seal upon such work thus disconnected, or disconnect service wires to premises, or <br />require the ~ rson, firm or corporation supplying current to said defective work or work <br />installed without permit, to disconnect his, their or its service. <br /> <br /> The City Electrician shall at the same time give notice of such disconnection to <br />the owner or occupant of the building in whirl such disconnecting has been done, or to the <br />person using the c~rrent by means of such disconnected wiring, apparatus, or fixtures, and <br />shall within twenty~four hours thereafter, in writing, notify the party using current of <br />such disconnection. After such disconnection, wiring, apparatus or fixtures have been so <br />put in condition required by this ordinance, the seal or seals ~o placed by the City <br />Electrician shall be removed by him. <br /> <br /> It shall be ~lawful for any person, firm or corporation to use any current in, <br />through, or by means of such disconnected wiring, apparatus or fixtures, or to attach <br />other wires for the supply of current to such disconnected wiring, apparatus or fixtures, <br />or to remove, break, or deface any s.~al so placed. <br /> <br />Section l~. <br /> <br /> All plumbing and pipe work must be in place and not concealed befor~ the electric <br />wiring is inspected, and no such wiring will be considered as complete until such piping is <br />in place. Upon making inspection of any electrical equipment, the inspector shall leave a <br />notice at the service switch, or other suitable place, ~ta+ing that the electrical work <br />has been inspected by the City Electrician, ~nd it shall be unlawful to conceal any <br />electrical wiring or other work uhtll same has been inspected as herein required. <br /> <br /> There shall be no lathing done inside any building ~til the electric wiring <br />has been inspected and appr6ved by the City Electrical Inspector and the approval tag is <br />placed on the service. <br /> <br /> Conduit in stallatlmas may he made at any stage of construction and the City <br />Electrician shall cooperate with those in charge'of the installation in inspecting work <br />that of a necessity must be concealed during construction and previous to the completion of <br />the installation. <br /> <br />Section 14. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation either as an o~mer, <br />architect, artisan or otherwise, to ~o or cause or permit to be done, to use or cause to be <br />used, any electrical wiring or any installing of electrical ap~ratus or fixtures in such a <br />manner that they do not, in all respects, conform to the provisions of this ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 15. <br /> <br /> All application blanks must be filled in full, gi~ing permit number, name of owner, <br />and electrical contractor, and location by street and number of ~rk to be inspected. A <br />diagram of wiring must be d~awn on such applications, and such diagram mu~t have the number <br />of lights marked, at each outlet, together with wattage, and must show wire sizes and <br />distances, locations, location of every switch, tablet bo~rd or switch boards, also circuits <br />clearly outlined and as nearly as possible the manner in which all wires are installed. <br /> <br /> Every firm, person or corporation owning, constructin~ or having control of the <br />installation of any electrical wiring or apparatus under the prowisions of this ordinance <br />must correct any and all defects therein within a reasonable time after the notice thereof <br />from the office of the City Electrician. After such defects have been removed, the person, <br />firm or corporation who shall have removed the defects shall notify the City Electrician ~ <br />the removal of such defects. <br /> <br /> When any person, firm or corporation, after such notice, has been given by the City <br />Electrician, shall be found to have violated any of the requirements of. this ordinance, or <br />when, through any such vuilation, by any person, firm or corporation, doing the work, it is <br />necessary to make any extra inspection of the work, there shall be charged said person, firm <br />or corporation for such extra inspection made necessary on account of the w~latiom or for <br />alterations to work previously accepted, or for any other inspection of any electrical <br />equipment governed by the provisions of this ordinance, for which no fee is herein prescribed <br />a fee of One Dollar for each additional inspection. <br /> <br />Section 16. <br /> <br /> If any person, firm or corporation shall place or 'nstall or cause to be placed <br />or installed in any building, structure or tent any wiring, ap~ fetus or fixtures for the use <br />of electricity, or shall make or cause or permit to be made any alterations or changes in or <br />addition to any wiring, apparatus or fixtures for such use, without a permit first having bee~ <br />obtained for the same as required by thie ordinance, no permit shall be subsequently issued <br />for the same and no inspection of the same shall be made until double the amount of fees <br />otherwise provided by this ordinance are paid for such permit and Inspecti~. <br /> <br />Section 17. <br /> <br /> It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation either as owner, contract~ <br />artisan or otherwise, to place or cause to be placed in, on or around a~y se rvlce switch or <br />cutout, except the neutral conductor of a 110-220 volt system, any wire or metal, or other- <br />wise to prevent any service switch or cutout from opening under excessive currents. <br /> <br />Section 18. <br /> <br />Definition of terms. <br /> <br />For the purpose of this ordinance, the following terms shall haVe the meanings <br /> <br /> <br />
