ORDINANCE NO. 854. <br /> <br />AN OHDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />DECLARING RESULT OF ELECTION. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a special election was held in that territory <br />known as "North End Addition", on Friday, the 15th day of June, 1928, <br />pursuant to the provisic~s of an act of the Legislature of June ll, <br />1913, relating to the annexation of territory to municipalities, <br />and found in the statutes of 1913, Page §87, as subsequently amended, <br />at which election there wassubmitted the question of whether said <br /> <br />new territory hereinafter described should be annexed to, incorpora- <br />ted in and made a part of the City of Santa ~4ua; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, notica of s aid election was given by publica- <br />tion, in the time, form and manner as required by said Act, as <br />appears fran the affidavit of The Orange Daily News on file with <br /> <br />the City Clerk; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appears that said special election was held <br />in accordance with law and said notice on Friday, the 15th day of <br /> <br />June, 1928, and that the polls for said election were kept open <br />during the time required by law, to-wit: from six o'clock A.M. to <br />seven o'clock P.M. of said day, and that said special elction was <br />held and conducted and the votes received an~l canvassed, and the <br /> <br />result thereof determined and declared in the time, form and manner <br /> <br />required by law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did <br /> <br />on Monday, the 25th day of June, 1928, being the time provided for <br />its regular meeting next after the expiration of three (3) days from <br />and after the date of said election, meet and proceed to canvass the <br /> <br />returns of said special election as required by law; whereupon the <br /> <br />result of said canvass having been found to be as hereinafter stated <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Santa Aha do ordain <br /> <br />as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the new territory proposed to be annexed to <br /> <br />said City of Santa Aha as aforesaid is particularly described as <br /> <br />follows, to-wit: <br /> <br /> Situated in the County of Orange, State of California, <br />and particularly described as follows: <br /> Beginning at a point in .the Northerly Boundary line of <br />the City of Santa Aha, California, said point being 7VO feet Westerly <br />from the Westerly line of North Main Street as it exists North of the <br />Northerly Boundary of the City of Santa Ana; thence Northerly along <br />a line drawn parallel to and distant VVO feet Westerly from the Wes- <br />terly line of North Main Street to an intersection with a line drawn <br />parallel to and distant 200 feet Southerly from the Southerly line <br />of Chapman Avenue as it exists West of the said North Main Street; <br />thence Westerly along said line drawn parallel to and distant 200 <br />feet Southerly from the Southerly line of said ChapmanAvenue to an <br />intersection with the Northwesterly line of property deeded by T.R. <br />Lawrence to Frank M. Luton and wife, September 3rd, 1925, as recorded <br />in Book 605, Page 327 of Deeds, Records of Orange County, California;I <br />thence Northeasterly along said Northwesterly line of said Luton <br />property to an intersection with the Southerly line of ~ aid Chapman <br />Avenue; thence Easterly along the Southerly line of said Chapman <br />Avenue to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to and distant <br />446.8~ feet Westerly from the center line of said North~atn Street; <br />thence Southerly along said llne drawn parallel to and distant 446.82 <br />feet Westerly from the center line of said North Main Street to an <br /> <br /> <br />
