RESOLUTION NO. 63-25 DECLARING INTENTION TO CALL <br />A SPECIAL ELECTION IN THAT CERTAIN TERRITORY <br />HEREIN DESIGNATED "HARBOR AND EDINGER EAST <br />ANNEXATION" TO SUBMIT THE QUESTION OF ANNEXATION <br />TO THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO THE ELECTORS RESIDING <br />IN SAID TERRITORY, AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE DAY, <br />HOUR AND PLACE FOR PROPERTY OWNERS TO SHOW CAUSE <br />WHY SAID TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE ANNEXED <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore, at the request of residents and property <br />owners within the area hereinbelow described, and after approval and <br />recommendation favoring said annexation from the Santa Ana Planning <br />Commission, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana adopted a <br />Resolution NO. 62-172 giving consent to the commencement of proceedings <br />under the Annexation Act of 1913; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, thereafter, the proponents of said annexation published <br />notice of intention to circulate petitions for said annexation and <br />accompanying statement and filed a copy of said notice and statement <br />of reasons, together with the affidavit of publication thereof, with <br />said City Council, and said City Council adopted Resolution No. 62-204 <br />which, among other things, approved circulation of a petition for <br />annexation of said area to the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS,thereafter, said petition was duly circulated and filed <br />with the Clerk of the Council and examined by said Clerk and by the <br />County Clerk of Orange County, California; the voters records have <br />been examined and certifications of said two Clerks have been received <br />and filed certifying that said petition represents more than one-fourth <br />of the qualified electors residing within said territory as shown by <br />the County Registration of Voters. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the <br />City of Santa Ana hereby finds that said petition requesting annexation <br />of the territory hereinbelow described is signed by more than one- <br />fourth of said qualified electors residing within said territory; and <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That said City Council hereby declares <br />its intention to call a special election to submit to the electors <br />residing within said territory the question of annexation of said <br />territory to the City of Santa Ana, which said territory is hereby <br />designated as "HARBOR AND EDINGER EAST ANNEXATION", an appropriate <br />name by which said territory may be referred to upon the ballots used <br />in said election. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the 4th day of March, 1963, at <br />the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, Third <br />and Main Streets, Santa Ana, California, is hereby designated as the <br />day, hour and place where any person owning real property within said <br />territory may appear before this legislative body and show cause why <br />said territory should not be annexed to the City of Santa Ana. At <br />any time not later than said day and hour any owner of real property <br />within said territory may make written protest against said election. <br />Such protest shall state the name of the owner of the property affected <br />and the street address or other description of the property sufficient <br />to identify it on the last equalized assessment roll, as provided for <br />by Section 35120 of the Government Code of the State of California. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the territory herein referred to <br />lies in the Councy of Orange, State of California, and is described <br /> <br />Beginning at the intersection of the Easterly prolongation <br />of the North line of the South one-half (S. 1/2) of the <br />Northwest one-quarter (NW 1/4) of the Northwest one-quarter <br />(NW 1/4) of Section 22, Township 5 South, Range 10 West, <br /> <br />-1- <br /> <br /> <br />
