<br />On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee
<br />seconded~by Dahl and carried, Pipe Line License dated May 13, 1952,
<br />between the City and The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company
<br />to construct and maintain one 2-1/2" galvanized pipe line and one 2"
<br />galvanized pipe line, also one meter and one 3/4" galvanized pipe
<br />service line along the Santa Fe tracks from Fourth Street north, was
<br />
<br /> approved and proper officials authorized to execute the License.

<br />On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request
<br />of William E. LeBlanc, local Chairman, of the United Cerebral Palsy
<br />Association, for permission to solicit funds on Thursday evening,

<br />April 25, 1952, was gA'anted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the
<br />request of the Chief of Police was granted that Captain R.M.Bradley,
<br />who has accrued sufficient overtime, be permitted to attend the
<br />California Division of the International Association for Identificatiol
<br />at Berkeley, on May 28 through May 31, 1952, with expenses paid by
<br />
<br /> the City.

<br />Communication was read from the City Engineer advising the Pacific
<br />Electric Railway Company that the United States Rubber Company has
<br />purchased the property lying south of and adjacent to the Pacific
<br />Electric Railway tracks from a point which is slightly west of Orange
<br />Avenue as it exists north of the tracks, and that the Pacific Electric
<br />Railway Company probably would have no objection to granting an ease-
<br />ment for a crossing if the City agrees to pay the cost of the crossing
<br />on Orange Avenue estimated to be about $3500.00. It was moved by
<br />Trustee McBride, seconded by Hunter and carried, that the City agree
<br />to pay the cost of the crossing if it does not exceed the sum of
<br />
<br />$3500.00.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, the report
<br />from the Chairman Planning Commission reference East-West Major High-
<br />ways, was received and filed.
<br />
<br />A petition was read signed by William T. and Louise M. Reetz and
<br />Jesse J. and Wilmot M. Williams, requesting that a portion of Vance
<br />Street approximately 150 feet east of Santiago Street and which
<br />terminates at the easterly boundary of the property owned by the
<br />petitioners, be abandoned. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded
<br />by Dahl and carried, the petition was referred to the Planning
<br />Commission for recommendation.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, Map Tract
<br />No. 1558 covering improvements of Westwood and Tenth Streets, sub-
<br />
<br />mitred by Emmet C. Rogers was approved,
<br />dated April 16, 1952, amount $11,000.00
