Reynolds, in the sum of $1000.00, for injuries sustaine~ <br />when she fell on the sidewalk at the southes~st corner of Main and <br /> <br />Fifth Street,'was referred to the Attorney and Insurance Carrier. <br /> , <br />A Notice of Intention to circulate a petition, signed by twelve <br />residents and property owners, was read, which Notice of Intention <br />proposes the adoption of an Ordinance requiring the Council to levy <br />and collect a tax of $0.15 on each $100.00 of assessed valuation to <br />provide a swimming pool in Memorial Park and other facilities in the <br />parks of the City. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome <br />and carried, the Notice was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, proper <br />officials were authorized to execute letter of renewal of Contract <br /> <br />N 123-s-44643 with the Public Works Office, Eleventh Naval District, <br />covering sewage disposal at the Lighter-Than-Air Base. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, proper <br />official was authorized to sign escrow instructions from John J. and <br />Kathryn M. Fullenwider, for the widening of South Main Street. <br />Communication was read from the Chamber of Commerce recommending that <br />the name of that portion of the State Highway known as "Santa Aha <br />Canyon Road" not be changed to "Corona Freeway", and on motion of <br />Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and carried, the communication was <br />received and filed. On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl <br />and carried, the Administrator was instructed to communicate with the <br />Corona City Council and Chamber of Commerce in regard to the recommend- <br />ation of the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Hunter and carried, the <br />demands as audited by the Finance Committee were approved and Clerk <br /> <br />authorized to issue warrants covering demands. <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Hunter and carried, the <br />request of the Loyal Order of Moose for permission to erect "Save Our <br />Children" road signs at the entrances to the City, was referred to the <br />A~ministratcr and Engineer with power to act. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of T~ustee Jerome, <br />seconded by McBride and carried, proper officials were authorized to <br />execute agreement between the City and Robert G. Smith, for the con- <br />struotion of an electric sign at 826 South Main Street, which sign <br />will extend over and upon the five-foOt set-back line established on <br />South Main Street. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, Richard C. <br />Marshall was re-appointed as a member of the Library Board; term to <br /> <br />expire June 30, 1955. <br />. <br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, <br />and Mrs. Hugh Gerrard were <br /> <br />Board; <br /># <br /> <br /> seconded by Jerome and carried, Art Blandin <br /> <br /> re-appointed as members of the Forestry <br />terms to expire June 30, 1955. <br /> <br /> <br />
