Webster and Mrs. Sallie G. Herrington that a blind strip of land at the rear end of their lot at 1419-21 Spurgeon Street be closed, was referred to t~he Administrator, Engineer and Fire Chief for report at the next meeting. # On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Dahl, se~conded by Jerome and carried, the bid of Sully-Miller Contracting Company, in the sum of $22,244.?6 was accepted for the improvement of East Delhi Road from Main Street to the East City Limits, and all bids rejected. # On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Dahl, othe~ ! seconded by Jerome and carried, the bid of Bully-Miller Contracting Company, in the sum of $24,509.00 was accepted for the improvement of East Seventeenth Street between Main Street and French Street and between Poinsettia Street and Santiago Street, and all other bids rejected. # The Committee reported that Penn Construction Company was the low bidder for the construction of a storm sewer on Pine Street from Shelton Street to Third and Patton Streets but the amount bid was in excess of the Engineer's estimate, and on motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Mcbride and carried, all bids were rejected. # On motion of Trustee Mcbride, seconded by Dahl and carried, communi- cation from the Metropolitan Water District, together with certified copy of Resolution No. 4115 levying a tax for the fiscal year 1952- 1953 upon taxable property taxable by the District, including taxable property lying within 12xe City of Santa Ana, were received and filed. Communication was read from :the B~ard of Supervisors advising that pro-' posed annexation cf approximately'eight acres lying between the River Channel and King Street south of 15th Street, oWned by Wa~ter W. COle, was continued Pending receipt of revised map and description of the territory to be &nnexed, and on motion $f Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the communication was received and filed. Communication was read from the City Engineer requesting a clasSificatiOn be set up for Chief Operator in the Water Plant and that an examination. be held. On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request was refer~ed to the Administrator for report at the next meeting. Communication was read from ~the City Attorney submitting Order No.58022~ for immediate possession of the property at the northeast corner of Seventeenth and Main Streets, oWned by Nelle Ma~ie'Remsberg, etal for the widening of East Seventeenth Street. On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Mcbride and carried, the Clerk was authorized to
