On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded <br /> by Jerome and carried, the claim was referred to the City Attorney <br /> Insurance Carrier. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, proper <br /> authorities were authorized to execute Assignment to County <br /> <br /> District No. 1 of Orange Oounty, for purchase of sewer pipe for Dyer <br /> <br />Roadt from Gladding-McBean Company. <br /> . <br />Com~Anication was read from the City of San Fernando protesting pro- <br />posal concerning a 4% State-wide sales tax, and on motion of Trustee <br />Dahl, seconded by McBride and carried, the communication was received <br /> <br /> and filed. <br />· <br />Communication was read from the City of Fullerton, together with <br />Resolution. No. 1579 opposing the proposal of the County Supervisors <br />Association for legislation with reference to a 4% State-wide sales <br />tax, and on motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, <br /> <br />the communication and Resolution were received and filed. <br /> # <br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> <br />resignation of Byron F. Quivey from the Fire Department, effective <br /> <br />September 3, 1952, was received and~filed. <br />. <br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl Mud carried, commun~- <br />cations from the Board of Supervisors authorizing the consolidation <br />of special election with the general election for the purpose of <br />levying and collecting a tax on property within the City for the <br />purpose of constructing a swimming pool and bath house in Memorial <br />Park and providing additional recreational equipment for parks, and <br />for the purpose of submitting to the electors of the City the ~ <br />of the adoption of a City Charter, were received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, <br />communication from George Coffman protesting the manner in which the <br />garbage trucks are driven was referred to the City Engineer. <br />Communication was read from Willia~ Nutter, on behalf of the Latter <br />Day Saints Church, expressing thanks to the City Council and to the <br />City Engineer for the approval of a pedestrian sign at 501 South <br />Halladay Street, and on motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl <br /> <br />and carried, the communication was received and filed. <br /># <br /> <br />A petition was read signed by five residents and property owners on <br />West Myrtle Street between South Parton and South Garnsey Streets, <br />requesting that a "No School Parking Sign" be placed on West Myrtle <br />Street. On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, <br />the request was referred to the Administrator and Chief of Police <br />for report. <br /> <br /> <br />
