<br />Communication was read from the City Engineer advising that improve-

<br />on motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the bond
<br />
<br />filed by Jasper Farney, in the sum of $32,000.00, was ordered released
<br />,
<br />Communication was read from Mrs. William C. St. Clair, Jr. requesting
<br />that action be taken to establish a speed limit on Delhi Road, and on
<br />motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request
<br />was referred to the Administrator, Engineer and Chief of Police for
<br />
<br />report.

<br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and ca. tied, Resolution
<br />No. 28719 from Oak/and City Council opposing legislatlon proposed by
<br />the County Supervisors Association to provide for a 4% sales tax, wac
<br />
<br />received and filed.

<br />Communication was read from the Board of Education reference forming
<br />an assessment district in the vicinity of the Edison School and
<br />advising that monies had not been included in the budget for the
<br />current year for such a project, and on motion of Trustee Dahl,
<br />seconded by McBride and carried, the communication was received and
<br />
<br />filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Mayor
<br />was authorized to sign escrow instructions, from Jose and Bonita
<br />Gallegos, for the acceptance of an easement deed for street purposes,
<br />being the easterly thirty feet of Lot 37, Tract 159, located on the
<br />
<br />west side of Orange Avenue.

<br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the
<br />notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage
<br />application made by Lois C. Ross, 1705 No. Main St., was received
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the appli-
<br />cation of Charles James Nefaros, to drive taxicabs, was received and
<br />~ranted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the demands
<br />as audited by the Finan ce Commlttee were approved and Clerk was author
<br />ized to issue warrants for same.

<br />On recommendation of the committee and on motion of Trustee Dahl,
<br />seconded by Jerome and carried, the bid of the United States Pipe and
<br />Foundry Company, in the sum of $17,424.00, was accepted for the furn-
<br />ishing of 10,000 feet of 6 inch and 2,000 feet of 4 inch, Class 150,
<br />Bell and Spigot, cement lined, cast iron water pipe, and all other
<br />bids rejected.
