(Santa Ana Commercial Company) On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request of Santa Ana-Tustin Community Chest for permission to place pole cards on light standards throughout the downtown area dtu'ing the period of the annual Community Chest campaign was granted, provided the cards are removed from the poles not later than one week after the campaign. # On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, oommunicatic from American Municipal Association extending an invitation to attend ~he annual American Municipal Congress to be held in Los Angeles on 'December 1, 2, 3, 1952, was received, filed and referred to the Administrator for future reference. # Communication was read from Santana Inc. advising that i$ is part of the required improvements of Tract 1608 to top the trees along the south bank of the Santiago Creek back to forty feet in heigh~ at their expense, and on motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the communication was received, filed and approved. # Communication was read from the Division of Highways reference installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Santa Aha Boulevard and Flower Street and advising that the City will be request- ed to participate in one-half of the cost of the installation. On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Hunter and carried, the Administrator was authorized to negotiate a contract with the State, the City to pay $5000.00 of the installation fee, the money to be paid out of the parking meter fund and officials authorized to execute contract. . Communication was read from the Pacific Electric Railway Company advising that the Santa Ana Line between Bellflower and Santa Ana, also between New Delhi and Dyer and between Greenville and the Air Base will be discontinued and that the Company will either remove with its own forces or let contract for the removal of poles and overhead wires, On motion of Trustee Hunter, seconded by Dahl and carried, the communication was referred to the Administrator and Attorney for writt~ report at the next meeting as to the effect on its franchise. # On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by-McBride and carried, the Order of Submission and Findings of Fact of the Industrial Accident Commission in the case of State Employees' Retirement System and Johan J. Hansen versus the City of Santa Ana, was received and filed. . The Administrator recommended that a contract be entered into with Adam Schlenining, Jr. and Randolph 0dne dba Lennox Disposal Service for the collection of trash and garbage under the terms of the submitted bid of 85~ per meter per month for all operations except the dump, $100.00 per month to be paid to the City for use of the Dump and be official~authorized to execute contract. On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Hunter and carried, the recommendation of the Administrator was approved and officials authorized to execute contract, with the modifications as dlsoussed by the Council. Mr. Kazaroff was questions if he would be willing to cancel the garbage contract as of November 1 1952 and he agreed to furnish a letter to that effect. #
