4. A promotional employee who is rejected during the <br />probationary period from a Fire Management Group <br />B class shall be returned to the classification in <br />which he or she holds regular status and at his or <br />her former salary step, unless the reasons for <br />failure to complete probation would also be cause <br />for dismissal from City service. <br />4.10 Reallocation of Salary Rate Ranges_. An employee who is <br />employed in a classification which is reallocated to a <br />different salary rate range from that previously assigned <br />shall be retained in the same salary step in the new salary <br />rate range as he or she had previously held in the prior <br />rate range and shall retain credit for length of service in <br />such step towards advancement to the next higher step. <br />4.11 Acting Fay. An employee in a class covered by this <br />Agreement may be appointed by the Fire Chief to serve in an <br />acting capacity during an unplanned absence from work of <br />thirty (30) - calendar days or more of another employee <br />represented by the Association. Represented Fire Management <br />employees who are granted acting pay shall receive a five <br />percent (50) increase or the minimum rate of the higher <br />salary range while serving in an "acting" capacity. <br />17 <br />
