BOARD OF EDUCATION: VACANCIES. in the event <br />of & vacancy in · membership on the Board of Education, for whatever <br />cause, the Board of Education shill declare the office vacant end fill tho <br />same by appoinment. In each case the person so appointed shell hold <br />office until the first Tuesday following the next general municipal elec. <br />tlon and until his successor is elected and qualified for the remainder of <br />an unexpired term. <br /> <br /> If · member of the Board of Education absents himself from all <br />regular meetings of the Board of Education for a period of sixty days <br />consecutively from and after the last regular Board of Education meet- <br />lng attended by such member, unless by permission of the Board of <br />Education expressed in its official minutes, or if a member is convicted <br />of a crime involving morel turpitude or shell cease to bo · qusllfied <br />elector of the School DJstrict~, his office shall become vacant and shell <br />be so declared by the Board of Education. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE IX <br /> APPOINTIVE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br /> Section 900. APPOINTIVE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: IN GEN. <br />ERAL. The following enumerated appointive boards &nd commissions <br />are here established end shall have the powers end duties contained in <br />this article: <br /> <br /> ia) Board of Recreetlon and Parks <br /> (b) Planning Commission <br /> (c) Personnel Board <br /> <br />The City Council may create by ordinance such other appointive boards <br />or commissions ec in itc ~udgmeot are required end may grant to them <br />powers and duties as are consistent with the provisions of this Charter. <br />The City Council, by motion adopted by at least three affirmative votes, <br />or the City Manager, may appoint from time to time temporary com- <br />mittees as deemed advisable to render counsel and advice to the ap- <br />pointing authorities on any designated matters or subjects within the <br />jurisdiction of such euthorlties. <br /> <br /> Section 901. APPOiNTiVE BOARDS AND COMMiSSiONS: AP- <br />POINTMENTS, REMOVALS, VACANCIES, TERMS. Except as otherwise <br />specified in this Charter, the member of each of the appointive boards <br />and commissions shall be appointed, and may be removed, by the City <br />Council, subject in both appointment and removal by motion adopted <br />by at lesst four affirmative voles. Vacancies from whatever cause aris- <br />lng shall be filled in the same manner. Upon · vacancy occurring leav- <br />ing an unexpired portion of a term, any appointment to fill such vacancy <br />shall be for the unexpired portion of such term. If I member of a board <br />or commission absents himself from three regulir meetings of such <br />board or commission, consecutively, unless by permission of such board <br />or commission expressed in Ils offlcial minutes, or is convicted of a crime <br /> <br /> <br />
