On motion of T~ustee McBride, seconded by Jerome <br /> and carried, the communication was received and filed. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from the City Attorney advising that Santa Aha <br /> Municipal Code, Section 5309 (b) provides for a Hearing Board to take <br /> action in event of-any violation of the provisions of the Chapter <br /> regulating orchard heaters. It was moved by Trustee Dahl, seconded <br /> by Jerome and carried, that the fees collected on violations by the <br /> City be turned.over to the County to apply on supervision. On motion <br /> of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the Chief of Police <br /> was designated as the enforcing officer providing a complaint is <br /> signed. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by Dahl and carried, the request <br /> of Edward A. Miller, M.D. that a passenger loading zone be <br /> at 309 West 8th Street was referred to the Administrator, City Engines <br /> and Chief of Police for report at the next meeting. <br /> <br /> Communication was read from Thomas P. Douglas, Director, Department <br /> Social Welfare, reSerence article published in the local newspaper <br /> on the subject "Beggars on the City Streets" and suggesting the read- <br /> ing of County Ordinance No. 572 and using the trained staff of the <br /> Welfare Department to investigate the individuals. On motion of <br /> Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the communication <br /> was referred to the City Attorney for study and report. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> request of Cecil C. DeVote that street lights be installed over the <br /> intersecting streets of Tract No. ~625, was referred to the City <br /> Engineer. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Jerome, seconded by McBride and carried, the <br /> <br /> claim of Rosa Liebermann for alleged injuries sustained when she fell <br /> on the sidew&lk, <br />_/on the north side of Stafford Street between Lacy and Minter Streets, <br /> <br /> in the sum of $150.00, was referred to the City Attorney and Insuranc, <br /> <br /> Carrier. <br /> # <br /> On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Jerome and carried, the <br /> applications of Burl Chase, William L. Henderson, Jr., and Merle D. <br /> <br /> Potter to drive taxicabs, were received and permits granted. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by Jerome and carried, the reques~ <br /> of The Blue Star Mothers of America,, Chapter No. 10, to sell Daisies <br /> <br /> on Saturday, May 9, 1953, was granted. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Dahl and carried, the <br /> <br /> Minutes of the Executive Committee of the Joint Outfall Sewer held at <br /> <br /> Anaheim, January 8, 1953', were received and filed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Dahl, seconded by McBride and Carried, the <br /> report for 1952 of the Fire Department, report on audit of City Court <br /> from July 1, 1952 to January 7, 1953, report on funds as qf December <br /> 31, 1952, submitted by the City Auditor; report of the Building <br /> Department for January, 1953 and yearly report of Police Department <br /> <br /> and for the month of January, 1953, were received and filed. <br /> # <br /> <br /> <br />
